I was going to order personalized shot glasses but I friend of mine keeps telling me no, and that I should order champagne glasses (plastic) and have them personalized.
Was getting the shot glasses because fgured people would actually keep them( I dont usually keep favors from weddings and showers)

Re: Favors
Don't listen to your friend. You should do what YOU want to do. It's your wedding! Shot glasses for everyone!

Re: Favors
The only reason I didn't want to do shot glasses is because I'm trying to move away from encouraging alcohol abuse from some of our guy friends....they're kinda still stuck in the college drinking rut even though we graduated 3.5 years ago.

See that I understand I just thought it would be a nice keepsake; dont have to worry about it melting or people just throwing them away

Ur right! And I want shot glasses! Now should I put anything in them? Should I wrap them in that stuff? Organza or tulle?

Re: Favors
I think wrapping the shot glasses in an Organza material will be real nice..and having it sit on everyone's plate...My friend had shot glasses personalized and it was real nice...GO FOR IT!! Bottoms up...

If you do shot glasses and are worried, then put candy in them and wrap them in clear plastic or something and tie it up with a bow... that was people won't open them at the wedding!

I like the idea of wrapping them in tulle/organza(whatever it is called)...the only thing I can think of what will fit in there are hershey kisses...I think the shot glasses are a great idea. I would def. keep that favor

Re: Favors
We are doing shot glasses and using them as our centerpeices. We put a rose or candle in every other one in front of each place.
We had the celtic wedding knot etched into each one.
I would do the shot glasses... stick with what you want!

Re: Favors
That's cool. Will you add anything with it? A mini bottle of liquor? You can probably get them wholesale.
We were going to do alcohol favors. Martini glasses for the ladies (from the dollar store) with some kind of mini mix and a green apple) and a Jack Daniels glass with a mini bottle for the guys My FI's favorite.
We are also thinking of beer and wine.
We decided against it beause of cost and it didn't really go with out Fall theme.
Plus my MIL to be would of had a fit!!!! We diidn't care though.
Good Luck!

You have to do what you like. If you like the idea of shot glasses go for it. I was going to do champagne glasses (glass) but since my wedding is far off I probably will change my mind. I bought 300 champagne glasses (not plastic) from Ikea for $67.00.

i actually like the shot glass idea...even if people dont use them they'll always keep them...its not something you chuck out in the garbage, or something that finishes like [ candy or candles]. do whatever makes you happy...once i went to a wedding where they gave out personalized shot glasses and filled it with colored almonds/candy and it was wrapped beautifully...turned out to be a good favor
