I am getting married in August at Bridgeview Yacht club and I was thinking of giving out little burlap bags filled with either salt water taffy or seashell shaped choclate truffles tied with a sanddollar around the ribbon.
Do you think this is wise considering ts August? I am nervous that the candy will get sticky or melt.
Any other ideas?!!!

Re: Favors...
I just want to say, what a clever idea!
If the favors are stored indoors, I don't think you will have a problem. Favors need to be dropped off at the caterer before the wedding anyway, maybe they can store them someplace cool!

Dude, I don't think I'd do the chocolate... maybe do the salt water taffe.. Also, the moron did cute favors- it was sunblock, lip balm and aloe.. she also got married on the water.. i'd ask her where she got the stuff, but as you know- not talking anymore b/c she's a ___ (fill in the blank)

I don't know about the chocolate but another idea is: On theknot.com they sell sanddollar shaped cookies, you can put a couple of them in a bag.

Re: Favors...
I'm sorry, I don't read. I agree, do not use the chocolates. I for some reason just read the taffy. Which I think is a cute idea. The lip balm, etc idea is cute & fun too!

I don't think you need to worry too much. They do have air conditioning correct??

Re: Favors...
I will have chocolate kisses in organze bags in August at John anthonys on the water. I'm not worried.
I know someone who was married at BVYC last July and had the same favor as I will have and they were fine. As long as they are not stored outside you shouldn't worry.

Re: Favors...
G, I used chocolates for my engagement party in the summer and they were fine! I dont think you would have to worry unless the whole wedding was outside and there was no airconditioning. I think they are both adorable ideas

Re: Favors...
I am also using choc for july 4th wedding, we are doing white choc angels with the gold dust on them for the tables, my FMIL does these types of things and she said as long as they are stored properly you will have no problems. Love the idea!
