Favors

Favors

I'm super against favors.

BUT I was recently thinking of doing something edible.. BIG maybe.

Before I start seriously entertaining the idea-

Anyone have any idea on price of edible favors?

IF I do this, I want to keep it inexpensive.

Re: Favors

were you leaning towards something like a cupcake/cookie, or a box with candy of sorts?

another option for you is to have a venetian hour (or candy bar) and give people 'to go' boxes so they can take things home

I definitely don't want a candy bar.

I was thinking more along the lines of truffles, or a cupcake or something.

What are the colors or theme of your wedding?!

the colors are black, dark red, and ivory.

Very classic, elegant, formal.

No major theme.

Re: Favors

if you DIY, it could cost about $1-$2 per person (obviously depends what kind of chocolate you actually get).

For my engagement party, we bought boxes from Party City for $20 for 50 of them, and filled it with ghiardelli chocolate ... they ended up costing a total of about 80 cents each.

non-DIY would obviously cost more

at my reception hall, they hand out a piece of 'expensive' (don't ask me what expensive is when it comes to chocolate, I'm fine with Hershey lol) gourmet chocolate.

Which is half the reason I'm not sure about edible favors, would it be weird to give that as a favor when they get a piece of gourmet chocolate on the way out?

So def not candies or chocolates - I was thinking truffles or cupcakes though.

That's a great idea though! Thanks!

I don't know how much they are, but I've seen brides give out candy apples and I thought that was really cool and looked really yummy!!! Let me see if I can find a pic of one or get a price online........

ETA: I haven't found a site that lists the price, but here is a pic. mmmmmmm!

If the edible thing doesn't work out, maybe you can do a donation

We were originally thinking of doing a donation- but I heard some not favorable feedback about that from some family members and friends - enough negative feedback that it influenced me that if I do a donation, I'm also going to do an edible favor as well. Hence why although I'm against favors, I'm looking into an edible one.
