Favors???

Favors???

I dont really have any idea what we would like to do for this. FH wants something edible/chocolate and we need to keep it very budget friendly. I just saw this pic and I was thinking we could maybe tuck one of those chocolate roses into each napkin? What do you think? Maybe we could get a good deal after valentines day....do you think they would last that long though?

Our colors are Black white and red...I'm thinking white linens with a black napkin and a red or white chocolate rose would look pretty hot. Yeah? No? Better ideas? Thanks!!!

Re: Favors???

I have a friend who orders trays of these yummy truffles. She found a website with a GREAT price. ANd we got these long clear bags, and put two sitting next to eachother on the bottom, which made the bag stand up straight, with ribbon and a little tag with the wedding date and stuff. It was nice because it was a little different from the chocolate you usually see at weddings, and it really added to the tables when you walked in.

It is such a good idea! Maybe you could tie a personalized ribbon around it too!

Do you know what the total cost of that comes to? And what the website is? Thanks!

Re: Favors???

awaiting her answer...

but you could call a place like the chocolate duck in farmingdale. See if its somethign they do. I would try that- if you can get it from a candy shop that you can pick up from, that saves you on shipping, and maybe you could get a deal on the bags, since they almost always sell those bags at chocolate places like that.

the chocolate won't go bad.

Re: Favors???

well, she ordered and we made those favors like, one and a half, 2 weeks before the wedding. The chocolate is wrapped up, and then when you take it out of the tray, you are closing it in a bag.

The shell of those things are made with the same kind of chocolate that lollipops are made of...which I can safely say i have been to my share of christenings where that was the favor and I ate that thing WEEKS after the event...and yum. =)

Re: Favors???

Another idea, if you want to do the work- is to make your own bag of treats.

You could melt the chocolate, and do like, half covered pretzel rods. You could buy those little tubs of pretzel nuggests filled with peanut butter and cover those, or just drizzle chocolate over it. And you could get bags of dried bananas and fruit and do the same thing. AND you could go and find BRIGHT red sprinkles, either those little balls or the crystal ones...and put them all over that way the treat would totally match the tables. Takes some work, but you could do it the week before the wedding..it will be theraputic!

I'LL TOTALLY HELP!! Cleary, I have done this before!

Haha, wow, thanks for all the ideas! I'm a little nervous to take something like that on the week before the wedding....so many other DIYs that might still be coming together...but I will def. keep them in mind. I think FH would love chocolate covered dried banana...I might have to try those out on him beforehand just in case

you shuold!!! But, if you are making it for an 'eat right now' treat- slice a banana into little circles, and freeze them for a a little bit so that they aren't slimey. Then, take them out and smear some peanut butter on one side. Cover them in chocolate and put into the fridge till the chocolate is set. YUMMMMMM but only if he likes peanut butter
