Favors

What is everyone doing for favors? I am so confused. I was going to do a coaster set, but my MIL said 'if i want to be classy I will do a donation' I don't want to do a donation. And, she knows that. Hopefully she will drop it, but I don't want to get on her bad side. Any ideas? I want to do a favor that people will use!

I agree! Fh and I are doing personalized glass coasters too (pics in my album), along with a s'more station with fall inspired flavors like pumpkin spice, classic, and vanilla bean . I found these chinese take out cartons on ebay that they can use to take the s'mores home if they want.

And if you're FMIL is anything like my mom, she's probably referring to what people did when she was getting married. Maybe you can explain to her that people today are getting more creative with favors, and infusing their personalities in them. I once went to a wedding where they gave out bottles of wine as their favors for the adults, and for the kids in attendance, Arnold Palmer drinks in bottles with the bride and grooms monogram on them.

I'm doing donations but coasters are definitely useful. I got coasters at a wedding and it's one of the few things I actually use that I've gotten at a wedding. I've gotten candles before which I thought were great because I always burn candles.

I like the idea of coasters! Definitely something that will people will use afterwards which was an important factor for me in picking my own.

Originally I was going to do an edible favor (cake pops drecorated like brides and grooms) but in the end we went with a vintage looking key bottle opener. We wanted something that people will use and not just throw away.
