we had hershey bars made with our own label on them..one of my girlfriends had homemade cookies in the shape of engagement rings and two hearts with their names on them. i dont think you have to do anything crazy for an e-party.

We had mini champagne bottles. I dont think you have to and to be honest a lot of people didnt even take them.

we didn't have an engagement party, but my friend did and her cousin made chocolates for everybody to take home--something simple and sweet.

we had a backyard bbq with catered food and luau theme. we didn't give favors.

We had a BBQ with a luau theme and gave out a 4 pack of cookie cutters with a beach theme. They were cute and inexpensive. Try www.favorsfavors.com for inexpensive favors.

we had bottle openers with a cute quote about love being the key or something like that...OMG I just realized it was 3 years ago....no wonder i cant remember the quote!

we're not going overboard, because its our engagement party and we're trying to save for the 'main event' lol.

I'm giving out our STD magnets and doing fall colored organza bags with truffles & hershey's kisses inside.

we did little wine bottle stoppers with hearts on them
we had them wrapped up with the jordan almonds on top it came out really cute!

My mother wanted to do something and my FMIL wanted to do something different...so they are each doing something.
My mother got hershey bars and we're going to wrap them with our date and stuff. She is also making chocolates in the shape of wedding cakes.
FMIL bought little leaf soaps in a box and the box says fall in love.
So my guest are getting a whole bunch of stuff! I think something small like chocolates is good though. Only couples are getting the soaps, and they're cute, but who is going to use them? Just don't tell FMIL that

we're doing something simple in my parent's backyards and will be giving the STD magnets with hotel info as the favors.

you don't have to give favors, but we did. We gave little candle votives (we were having a luau) that said our names. We wrapped them with our STDs this way we didn't have to send those out separately!
