you should go by how many invitations you send out.... because you might have some single people?! but it's usually per couple.

I would say mostly by couple, but it also depends on the type of favor you're going to have. My brother had an ice cream scoop so they did one per couple. If its a candle or candy you could do one per person.

I was going to do by couple but then wondered how do you let guests know? If there is a favor table, do you have them labeled with guests names, or a sign that says 'per couple' b/c i thought that way might seem tacky??

Maybe you want to have a table with each favor made out to a person (if there by themself) or to a couple. I was at a wedding where there was enough per couple, but they were scattered on each table so some couples got no favors and some got 2 because they didn't understand.

i guess it depends on what your favor is. i'm doing lennox votive's and i'm doing one per couple.

they usually go by the invites.. we are sending them out to couples, so the favors will be per couple .. Of course we are going to have plenty extra, so thats not really a problem but we are giving every person sparklers and confetti (almonds) on their plates in the RH

FH says we have to do our rum cakes per person... which totally ups our costs now... But I guess its okay considering how much guests normally give you as a wedding gift

In our case the favors will already be on the table. So, if there are 5 couples and 5 favors it makes sense. If there are 4 couples and 2 singles and then 6 favors, I think it also speaks for itself.
My friend got married and was upset because the DJ didn't announce that the votive candle holders on the table were also the favors. So, alot of people left without them. My friend was mortified because her guests left thinking there was no favor, and she had about 40 favors just left on the table. So, if you are putting the favors on the table, please make sure your guests know you are supposed to take them.

I was thinking of doing one per couple, but FH thinks it'll be easier to just do one per person and have them at their placesetting.

I think it depends on what kind of favor it is. I would do one candy favor per person or if it's a shot glass or something like that but if it's a gift like an ice cream scoop or something, one per couple.

We are going to wrap the gifts and then put the placecards on top of the box, so when guests go get their names they will already have the gift, that way no confusion .. and everyone gets their what they are supposed to. I got the idea from BlueGreen!!!

I believe it goes by invitation. Each person or couple should get a favor.

im going to do something small...and it'll be per person. most weddings i've been to don't give big favors. I'm going to do something like candy in a container or something.
