Favors -- something you can eat or something you can use?

Favors -- something you can eat or something you can use?

We're doing one bottle of wine per couple but we also wanted to have a favor box on the table as well (for my Tiffany blue box thing I'm doing).

Here's the question -- in that box, would you rather get something you can use (like a bottle stopper -- though it seems like when alot of people see bottle stoppers, they don't know what they are) OR something you can eat (like chocolate hazlenut merlot cookies -- 'merlot' to go with the wine thing)?

Thanks

I should've mentioned that I'm attempting to make them myself, so they might *sound* good, but ... Good thing my mother is coming to town the week of the wedding. She's an amazing baker, so if I really screw things up, she can just remake all those cookies for me!

I actually did a mock-up of my escort card table with a bottle of Chard Gold, the escort card around the neck with pink ribbon and those cheesy silk rose petals (cheesy because of the FAKE RAIN DROPS on them )from ebay at the base. Didn't look half bad!!

something you can eat. I hate bottle stoppers for favors. I never ever use them. I seriously sold three at my garage sale a few weeks ago.

I love to eat, so I would vote for the cookies! I have to give you credit for baking all of them yourself...I could never do it!

My camera was out of batteries!! But I'm sure I'll do the set-up again when my MOH comes over this weekend so I'll be sure to take pics this time!

Did I tell you I tried making truffles? Tasted great, but I couldn't get them the right shape (for those who remember my 'where do you buy a melon baller?' post). Oh, and then they melted on my desk at work. Not a good indication for a July wedding! So, I'm trying cookies instead!

I'm gonna go against everyone here. I'd rather have something I can use. I never eat favors and they just end up going bad. I like to keep favors as a memory of that special day. I save them and years down the road remember I got it from so-and-so's wedding.

Something to eat. Guests can snack on them on the way home.
