favors: what do you think

my fh and i got engaged at mohegan sun, and we've gone on many gambling trips (i'm a lucky gambler, he loses everything :)). for our favors, we wanted to have something people could use and not something that would sit on a shelf somewhere collecting dust. i found somewhere on the net a glassine envelope and made-to-order labels with our names, wedding date, and 'Lucky in Love' printed on them. i love the idea of placing a scratch-off and a penny of the year in the envelopes, dressing them up with a sheer ribbon and fancy seal, and having them as favors. i would place each table's favors in a cute decorated box at each table. what do you think? would you like to get that, or would you think it's too casual or inappropriate? the way i see it, someone could walk out of there very very happy Of course, they'd have to split the winnings with me . thanks for your input.

I love it! We're actually using it for our favors too. My FH loves to play lotto and since we don't have too much money to spend on our favors we thought it was a cute/fun idea. It's somewhat of an interactive thing and everyone gets one.

I think its a great idea. We're doing lotto tickets too, but packaging them a little differently. What better gift then to maybe win a few thousand dollars!!
Although it was hard for me to convince my FH that it wasnt the best idea if we signed the back of each and every one.

I think that's a reall cute idea. Another possibility though ... what games do you guys usually play up there? I was just thinking, for example, if you play blackjack or Texax Hold 'Em, maybe you could get personalized playing cards made with your names and wedding date (EVERYONE needs playing cards for something) and you could include instructions on how to play your favorite game?

I think the idea is great...I've been considering it too..how wonderful would it be if one of your guests win big money! Don't forget to get a couple extra for u & your future hubby

that's cute. we're strictly slots, though. can't imagine losing so much money so quickly. nope, we like to spend hours with a few hundred bucks .

So, what you're saying is that you DON'T want to give everyone quarters and slot instructions? I'm a slots girl too -- I'm too intimidated to go up to the tables! I won $200 my first time in Las Vegas. FH was so mad!

I wouldn't be surprised! He was so mad though because I was just walking by a machine and, still standing up, just dropped in my quarter... $200 later, I was really liking Vegas!

i'm so excited; i just realized how to add your quote to my addition. i think i did it right this time; i guess i'll see when i send it . Don't you hate when that happens to someone else, though? my fh spent about 20 minutes and 50 bucks in one machine he 'felt' was a winner. after he finally gave up and got up, a man came and dropped one quarter in, and wins- over $1,000! fh wanted to kill him

Oh yeah, that's so awful! I definitely realized when we were in Vegas that FH and I can't live within an hour of a casino. He was up at the crack of dawn EVERY MORNING checking the sports lines downstairs. And when he was at the tables, he'd just keep betting because he figured he'd win 'eventually.' Yeah, dude, whatever He's banned from the casinos!

That's a cute idea. Also if you want another gambling themed idea: there are heart-shaped playing cards, that are decorated on the back like conversation hearts. Escape Concepts has them.
