oh man. i indirectly feel your pain. FH had his wisdom teeth removed and one is giving him issues. it didn't develop into dry socket but he had to get these nasty clove-smelling patches over the hole several times a week.

hand in there.

Dunno how you're feeling now (now being when you see this) but prescription Motrin is the same shyt as the over the counter stuff. They're 200 mg each, so if the dentist wrote you an RX for 600, take 3 OTC pills (Advil or Motrin, both brand names for Ibuprofen, so take whichever of those 3 you please). If he wrote for 800mg, take 4 OTC pills.

Sadly, Vicodin is cheap. Go to Rite Aid, sign up for a free Rite Aid Savings Card at the pharmacy and it should be $9.

And depending on the antibiotic, it is also likely relatively chreap, dental antibiotics usually are. Even better with the Rite Aid card. Go fill them, the vics and the antibiotics at least, it won't be too expensive.
Good luck and feel better.

i will go check this out. i think the scrip for my antibiotic is free @ stop and shop (or walmart, thanks kris) if its allowable dosage (which i'm sure it is)... i thought vicodin would be much more expensive. last time i had a tooth pulled we were there super late and we were the only people left in the office so the oral surgeon wrote my scrip out to FH and he filled it with his insurance and had to pay $15 to fill it... and it might've been cheaper at rite aid? LOL.

they packed it and it felt better within 5 minutes but i woke up about 2 hours ago and it was hurting a little again... and i just never fell back asleep so now i'm hanging out.

Def call arund for prices. I forgot that Stop & SHop do the free antibioic thing, I thought that was only cold and flu season so if they're still doing that def go for it. And Srsly don't bother filling the Motrin by prescreiption.

Generic Vics are definitely cheap. Call around for prices, but some places may tell you they won't give a price over the phone without seeing the script, depending on how many annoying drug seekers they've got hounding them every day (*ahem* Middle Island Wal Mart).

I filled Vicodin when I didn't have insurance and it wasn't more than $20 TOPS. In fact, I think it was probably between $10-$15 .
