What month did you have your bridal shower in? i think the norm is 2 months prior right? but that would be December and i feel like its too much with the holidays.

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
Not sure what the norm is - I've been to bridal showers that were six months before the wedding.
However, my SIL got married in February and her shower was in January.

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
most are 2-3 months before, so can be november but ive seen some that were lets say 4 months before. If you dont want december just tell the people planning it that either oct/nov might be better

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
Maybe they'll throw it in Late October or somewhere in November? It wouldn't even be terrible to do it in January, although IMO you may have a lot more crappy weather for people to travel in etc. if it's in January you know?

i was thinking october/november but i wasnt sure if it was too early.
Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
I say do it before December..not after..take it from a Feb bride...I am so stressed thinking about all the little things i have to do in january b4 the wedding and i am sooo glad I had my shower in November...its just too much stuff to deal with..I had my whole apartment in shambles when I brought all the gifts home...i think i would die if i had to deal with all that a few weeks before my wedding...jmo

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
My shower was at the end of August and my wedding was early October. So it was basically 6 weeks before the wedding. We based it on everyone's availability more than the 'norm.'

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
Mine will be in January, four weeks before my wedding. Totally fine with me, and I know my bridesmaids and family have been so crazed Holiday obligations between Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the parties in between that this works out the best schedule-wise for all of us.
Gives me an excuse to take a breather during the last two months of planning!

and JSG..good point about the weather in January
i think its fine, its definitely not too early at all. 2 months isnt a rule, infact the ru le is 2-3 months so if you did november it would be perfect, or even october ppl would be more than fine with. PLUS it gives even more of a gap for those guests which helps when it comes to money, they dont have to buy a shower gift and then give money at the wedding so close together so helps them.

Re: February Brides...Question about Bridal Shower
My sister is getting married this coming February. We hosted her shower on 11/16 to avoid bombarding people during the holidays. Not only are budgets stretched then, but we were worried about scheduling conflicts with holiday parties, etc. during that time of year.
