FED UP! with people who don't RSVP!

We have to have our seeting arrangements finished in 8 days! What do you do about people who don't RSVP, don't return phone calls or don't answer the phone. I am really fed up, how hard is it to send back an already stamped and addressed envelope???????????

I am putting them all down as NO! And if they show up, I am tempted to turn them away, but of course I won't they will just have to sit at the MISFIT table!u I will have an extra centerpiece just in case these people do show up![

Surprisingly, I researching this issue IN DEPTH. The proper etiquette is that non-response is considered a decline and that phone calls should NOT be made to non-respondents.

There are only a FEW people who I will be calling. And, that is only because I know that they are having a difficult time with health and life right now.

I will be considering non-respondents to be declines. I called people over the weekend, so did my mom and my FMIL to remind them that they only had 1 more week to RSVP. And, I think that even those phone calls were above and beyond what was necessary.

Well, we pulled out the two we definately knew from Illinois & Michigan that wouldn't come. I don't think they would fly out here and not give an RSVP. Then my two damn uncles, I left messages, buy hey now they are NO's according to me & my mother. Then w e have 2 friends who haven't gotten back to us! One, is FH's friend, I would rather not show up! And FH doesn't want to call, so he is a NO, then our other friend was a courtosey invite, because we weren't going to meet our minimum, but he could still call us and tell us if he is going or not. His phone has been busy for two days!r

Enough is Enough! I am doing the seeting tonight!v t

i feel your pain..... i just don't get what is so hard about checking yes or no and dropping the darn card in the mail!! what i decided to do was email/call all non-responders (it is one thing to make assumptions for a backyard bbq - but when you are paying $$$ per person, you want to know who will be there.) everyone got one email/phonecall on the day after rsvp's were due (that was friday). if i don't hear from them by this friday, they are getting another email/phonecall saying 'sorry you won't be able to make it.' that's it. their fault for not rsvp'ing!!!!
