I am planning on feeding my Photographer and my Videographer since they will be with me for 9-10 hours so I feel they deserve to be fed if they will be with me for so long and working so many hours... However, what about feeding my DJ and my MC? My DJ and MC will only be working for my reception for 4 hours...they do not set up, as they have guys that do that for them, and also will not work during my CH since my hall does not allow amplified music for an Outdoor CH.
So am I supposed to feed my DJ and MC even though they are only working for 4 hours? What is the proper etiquette and what is everyone else doing??

Re: Feeding Vendors
You are supposed to feed Photographer, Videographer, DJ and MC. The RH usually charges you 1/2 price for them maybe even more off the regular price. Check with your RH. RH may have a special meal set up for them instead of what the guests are having. Something smaller since they have to eat fast and get back to work.
Speak with your DJ and MC they may have a company policy where they do not get fed or that they provide for themselves.

Re: Feeding Vendors
I was just thinking about this today. I've decided to feed the DJ and MC because they are working 5 hours plus2 hours set up. Since they will be at the hall for 7 hours and it's not like they can grab a bite to eat (there is nothing around) I think it is only fair. In your situation, if you are positive it is only 4 hours and money is an issue then I wouldn't feel too bad not feeding them, though see if you can get something for them like a fruit and cheese platter.

Re: Feeding Vendors
I am not sure how much your rh charges for vendors meals, but i received a large discount for the vendor meals (they had the same meals as my guests). I think it is a nice gesture to feed all your vendors, they are working for you and you dont want a cranky MC or DJ - i rather have them well fed so they can do a good job.

Re: Feeding Vendors
I plan on feeding all my vendors, as it is proper etiquette and also nice....my hall gives us 1/2 off vendors meals and also some of my contracts state that meals are required.

Re: Feeding Vendors
We feed them also. We feed all of the vendors that where there during the wedding. I never saw any of them eating. I hope that they all did.

Re: Feeding Vendors
Check your contract. Most of them say 'you must feed' the vendor (DJ, Limo ect) even if they only work 4 hours. This pissed my FH off. He said, 'when I go to work, no one feeds me. I have to bring my own lunch'. But it's in our contracts so we have to do it.
