Re: feeding vendors?
We're feeding photographers, videographer, and our dj. One of our photographers actually had a stipulation in the contract about providing a meal.
ETA: Particularly regarding photo/video - it's a LONG day for them and I can't imagine leaving them without dinner.

Re: feeding vendors?
i am feeding them, but my band actually said not to because they would just eat at the cocktail hour. i probably would not have. we are feeding them anyway because we're below our minimum and they help us meet it.

Russo's has a vendor menu if you want where you pay a reduced (it may be half) price and they only get like 5 or 6 choices for dinner instead of the 11 choices that the guests get...this is what we did for our DJ/MC, videographer and photographer.
HOWEVER, you do have the option of telling them to eat at the CH and then give them the appetizer, salad and pasta and call it a night.

Re: feeding vendors?
We fed photographer, videographer, and dj. It was in our contracts that we had to feed them. Stewart Manor has them eat in the cocktail hour room.
**Just read that its not in any contract. I would just call them to verify since you do need to confirm with Stewart Manor, how many you will be feeding. You pay Stewart Manor that when you pay your final count bill. Make sure you double check with all of your vendors how many people you need to feed. My photographer told me him plus 3 others. The day of the wedding there was only him plus 2 others. I was so busy celebrating I didn't pay attention to that. I basically paid for an uncooked meal!

Re: feeding vendors?
I've often wondered why they can't just bring a bagged lunch or dinner. I guess maybe it wouldn't look too classy though to break out a brown paper bag and start eating a tuna sandwich... unless they went to a back room area.

Re: feeding vendors?
I've worked for Dj companies for more than 10 years and have done very many weddings. It's not necessary to feed the DJ but it is a nice gesture. Sometimes we don't get a chance to eat during the cocktail hour because while the music is playing, we are usually taking that hour to set up in your reception room. As an MC and party motivator I was moving around ALOT and would get very hungry. We chose to feed our vendors like the photographer, his assistant, and the videographer, the DJ, DJ's assitant, and the Plasma TV guy doing the zap shots. Being in the business so many years, I would feel wrong if I didn't. I wouldn't want someone bringing a bag lunch to my wedding!

I know. I was just making a joke. I guess they can. However I would feel weird if I was feeding one vendor a sit down dinner and not another that is going to be there at the same time. You know what I mean?

Re: feeding vendors?
I guess if they are there 1-2 hours early to set up... it's too long to go without eating even if they do eat before.
It's not good to go 6 hours without food, and then they have to break down the equipment and everything.
Some vendors would probably make more sales if they offer my bagged lunch idea LOL
