I dont want my wonderful vendors to read this and think I am a cheap-o but I have been taking a poll with my friends and asking them if they fed their band and photographers? Since CHCC jus put them on our 'tab' I assumed we HAD to, but when speaking to ppl I realized it is kind of a money making scam for the venue.... how many of you fed them (at Crest Hollow, mainly) or DIDN'T feed them??? Any help is appreciated! I need to save money and seriously, there's a ton of food at cocktail hour! Am I being a cheapskate????????

Re: Feeding vendors
What vendors are you referring to?
Your photographer will be working through your cocktail hour to get pics of you and your bridal party.
The DJ may be able to eat at CH but that all depends if he's setting up in another room or if he is playing music. Also, after cocktail hour, you can't really expect DJ's to go 5 hours without eating anything during your party and then spend another hour breaking down equipment, and then getting food on the way home? They can, but most people need to eat something.

Lara, it depends on your vendors.
My photographers/videographer specifically asked to be fed. But my band specifically asked NOT to be fed. So I'm only paying for the 2 photographers and the videographer.
HTH
As you know, I'm also at CHCC

Re: Feeding vendors
I thought you had to feed certain people like the DJ & photographers?? My venue will feed them for free if we use their in-house person and half off for outside vendors.

Re: Feeding vendors
You have to feed them...How would you ever plan on approaching the topic and telling them they are not allowed to eat? They will not be eating during cocktail hour because they will be working...their only down time is during dinner.
I am feeding my photographers and DJ which are the only two vendors who will be there during dinner.

Re: Feeding vendors
I'm feeding all of my vendors...I try to think if I was a vendor working 8-12 hours at someone's wedding I would need and want to eat also.

Re: Feeding vendors
I would be afraid to ask them. Maybe its better not to assume that they are all eating. Ugh I will have FH ask so he can look like that bad guy.

Re: Feeding vendors
I plan to feed all my vendors. After working a long, hard day that is the least I can do for them. I will ask if they prefer CH or the menu choices and who wants to be fed or not. I can't imagine not feeding them.

Re: Feeding vendors
we fed all our vendors even our band (and they said that they didn't need to be fed). we couldn't not feed them. they're there for how many hours - even if it's before everything starts or food for them to take home is a nice gesture IMO
