Feel bad for FH...GM BS
I feel so bad for FH. He doesn't have many close friends...his best friend is probably his brother, and he only has two close friends from HS. He has some acquaintances and some colleagues he sees outside of work, but not really close friends. His GM are his brother and 2 HS friends.
One of his HS friends is OOT, was a grad student forever and finally graduated this past summer and landed a new job in OH. He knew about all his arrangements though when FH asked him to be a GM, and still accepted. Of course I was cautious about that, but FH really doesn't have any other close friends, so naturally he was going to ask him.
So drops the bomb on him last night that he isn't coming to the rehearsal, or his bach-party which is the day before. FH is really upset, I can tell. I'm not really thrilled either at the notion of a GM who won't know where to go or what to do, but moreso that our RD FH is going to have 2 people in his bridal party and one of his best friends isn't going to be at his bach party. It's Thanksgiving weekend, so I thought he would be coming home anyways, but because of the new job he can't just take off the week leading up to the wedding to stay on LI for both events, and he doesn't want to/can't afford to fly out 2 weekends in a row.
I feel bad for FH. He's trying to act like he doesn't care but I can tell he's upset. His other GM is calling BS on the whole thing and just trying to stir the shiz pot about it. I wonder if this is because we put his name in the programs wrong...
