My MOH called me up the other said because she wanted to know when I wanted to go look at BM dresses. I felt bad, but I told her I wasn't ready to look. I know she's really excited, but I feel like its too early. For one, a few of my girls are trying to lose weight. I'm also worried that if I fall in love with a dress now theyll discontinue it. I dont want my girls to have to buy their dresses and store them for a year..
I just feel bad b/c I know she's excited to go...but I have over a year and feel like its way too soon and all of the bridal place people will tell me that anyway.

I know how you feel! I had lunch with on of my BM today and see asked me when we are gonna start looking and trying on dresses. I felt bad too.

Don't feel bad, you're the bride... You'll go when the time is right. I'm probably going to go about 9 months out with my MOH for her dress.
She'll be just as excited when you go, trust me.

I know you don't want to fall in love with a gown they will discontinue!! I think maybe you can go with her some time just so she can try some on it doesn't hurt trying...tell her you are really not looking to find one yet but she can try some on to see what she feels comfortable with!...I feel like its a bit early but if you want to go just for fun it can work! I am planning to start looking in the summer good luck

I think its really nice that she is so eager to go dress shopping! I am sure she is understanding of the reasons why you don't want them to go yet. You are just looking out for their best interests.

I second that, one of my BM's seems to not care at all about anything. But I know what you mean, it's a little early to be looking and new styles will come out at the end of the year.

u could do what we did, we looked and picked out a dress and the girls r going back in june to get fitted and order... u could shop and then go back for fitting and order at a later date so they know what the cost will be and can save up

do you have an idea of what you want? if you dont it might not be a bad idea to look around. it took me forever to find a dress that i think will look good on everyone. its a lot harder than you think!!

Colleen dont feel bad. It is still early. But its is so great that your BM's are excited. My MOH refused to go untill she loses weight (not that I think she need it). But whether or not she is ready by Nov, thats when we are going for hers.

My BF asks me all the time when are we going to look at dresses!!!! for me and her I think its awesome that she is excited!

What I am doing with my BMs is going to try on styles and colors. Then I can make a decision over the summer. This way we still get the fun experience, I get to see what kinds of dresses look good on them, but ultimately I choose.

I did something very similar. I took the girls to look at dresses and we wrote down a few styles we liked, hopefully they won't all be discontinued by the time we have to order.
