Don't be upset !! Your wedding is MONTHS away !! You have plenty of time to find someone great for both your hair and makeup !! The LIW vendors are NOT the only stylists on the face of the earth !!! And just b/c other brides rave about someone doesn't mean you would have the same experience. - I know I didn't !!!
Don't stress ! Hair and makeup are just to make you EXTRA beautiful that day !!!
FM me for my makeup person - And if it makes you feel any better, my wedding is in May - I don't have a hair stylist yet - I don't have a headpiece or a veil .........whatever !! i'll find them !

I have to look up the number for the woman who did my makeup she was one my bm friend of friend. She did an awesome job.

Don't worry at some point I think we all know how you feel whether it be makeup and hair or flowers and video. Look at it this way maybe these people weren't who you are supposed to wind up with and maybe whoever you do wind up with will do such an amazing job that the others couldn't hold a candle to it!!

I'm so sorry things haven't been working out for you. I was also really surprised when I called people maybe 11.5 months before my wedding only to find out that they were booked already!

If you need makeup and hair, you might want to try Maureen Pedala. She does makeup (I actually booked her for my wedding) and her sister, Claudia, does hair. The website is www.nyweddingmakeup.com. I think it's even possible to schedule a trial with both of them at once. Good luck!

I don't think it is very good business practice to start talking to someone and drop them b/c they don't respond to you in 4 days time.

Here I am making all these arrangements with work so I can meet up with people for trials and stuff and then oops!! someone else jumps right in front of me. (hair)

Concerning makeup, because some of you guys were asking, when I say 'bumping'
I mean that someone who asked AFTER you did gets to have the trial first, and book first if they like it.

It's not fair. I would say we are all very responsible and honest LIW brides. Especially if these vendors are dealing with us through this website they should respect us.

What happened with the 'makeup artist' is that she said she was booked, then lost her whole deal, then instead of making me aware that she can now possible accomodate me....she books a trial with someone who asked at least a month or so after I originally did.

The hair lady dropped me because she was wronged by a bride who didn't respond to her after MONTHS. She emailed me today at 9:45am saying 'do you want to book that trial' I responded almost 8 HOURS later - only to find out she has DROPPED ME and moved on to the girl who ORIGINALLY was looking into her. Although she apologized, I still feel that is a very poor way to keep prospective jobs.

When you piss someone off they are going to talk about it - ya know??
