Feel like I'm going to fall over!

Feel like I'm going to fall over!

All of a sudden this week, I feel like I can't hold my own weight anymore! I have to remind myself to keep my shoulders back so that I don't look like a hunchback, but I really feel like I'm going to fall forward with this belly. Also, I've been getting braxton hicks, the tightening kind so that adds to my feeling like a ate a whole turkey! This also has affected getting comfy at night. I hope it's just a phase. I've gained almost 20 lbs at 31 weeks (on saturday), but I'm only 5 feet tall, so it seems like a lot to me.

I don't feel like eating big meals, I just snack a lot after work on cheese and crackers, veggies with dip, dried fruit, tortilla chips. If I eat a big meal, I will feel 100x more 'full'!

You cant eat because your stomach has no place else to go!! You do have a small turkey in your belly Ahhh Braxton Hicks enjoy those... they are nothing like labor They do make belts to hold the belly up. Do you have one of those?

The BH don't hurt at all, I just feel my uterus pushing outward and it's heavy.

Yes, I'm still planning on a water birth, which is natural/non-medicated, including no pitocin. The great thing about the water is that you can get in when your 5cm. But, I have to be honest, at this point, I don't feel as strongly about it as I did a few months ago, I still don't plan on getting an epidural, but I will not be totally disappointed if it isn't natural. I'm more concerned about just getting the baby out and that we're both healthy.

Maybe I'll feel differently in a few weeks, or when I'm in labor. I'm glad that I have my MW, I trust her judgement and she definitely is for less intervention, but I know she will also do what is needed.

Nina - I went 16 hours with out drugs... then I had a shot of nubain to help me regain my sanity after they broke my water. Its all tolerable. I would have just had that one shot if I didnt have to have the c-section. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I think the most important thing during labor is that you and your baby are healthy. There are no heros, nothing to proof to anyone.
Also, I have heard from people that do not have 'OMG the pain was awful' stories. I mean, look at Liz (LIW). I think each birth experience is unique.

so if you get filled so quickly, why do so many women gain so much weight?? Are they just over eating or just eating a lot of junk, I know a lot of women who use the excuse I am eating for 2 No stop being greedy and go for a walk.

Nina wear your belly belt

Oh baby sorry to hear. Don't fall over now. I have heard pregnant women say they got clumsy.

Poor me I am already clumsy

when your are preg and esp in the later stages you get full very quickly- you are big not so much from what you eat but because the baby is getting bigger.
Most preg women do NOT pig out in the last trimesters- there is NO ROOM for all that food...your baby gains the most weight in the last 2 months..pushes against your lungs from above and your bladder from below. With that baby in there- there isnt much room for anything else but your vital organs!
