Feel so badly...

Feel so badly...

I just got home a little while ago and my FH looked bummed so I asked what's wrong. Apparently, all but 2 guys backed out of his bachelor party on SATURDAY saying they forgot about other plans. So his best man asked him if he wanted to change it to Friday and just go to dinner or something.

I feel awful...I leave for AC on Saturday for the weekend. That's when his was supposed to be and now he's only 'going to dinner'.

Any suggestions? I want to do something to cheer him up

that really stinks. it's not like they were just called up today!

is there any way you can talk to his best man and maybe he can reach back out to people?

Re: Feel so badly...

why can't he go big with the two guys ... i mean i know its not what he expected but the best times are usually the times you don't expect to be great--- i say encourage him to make the best out of the situation and find a way to do somethign speci-al for the weekend... when DH went to AC for the weekend they had a poker tournament and i tried to have cigars sent to the room for all the boys as a nice gesture (the stupid sales girl refused to do it despite missing a $300 sale???)

what were his plans supposed to be

Re: Feel so badly...

They were supposedly chartering a fishing boat during the day and this his best man was supposed to plan something at night, but to be honest with you ladies, his best man is so far up his fiancees butt that we never see or hear from him. I think that he was the one that dropped the ball on this one. Months ago I asked what they had planned and my fh said he needed to talk to his best man. I even offered to plan something for them bc I know the best man. Ugh.... So frustrating! We only get married once and I want him to have fun with it but thus totally put a downer on it!

Re: Feel so badly...

I was up on my phone last night while he was asleep, trying to come up with alternate plans for them for tomorrow and possibly Saturday. He said this morning before he left for work that he was going to talk to his best man and see what they want to do. I said they should go to a steakhouse (I was even going to go out and get a gift certificate to whatever restaurant they went to to defray the cost a little so people couldn't complain about money)....

Sigh.......people really do suck sometimes!

Re: Feel so badly...

my first thought is maybe their lying. maybe their just saying its gonna be a low key thing to throw him off but are really gonna surprise him with a big blow out party? i dont know why i just get a sneaking suspicion that this is the case, especially because its 2 days before the party and their just letting your FH know now.

How about having a bottle of bubbly or shots brought over to the table while they are having dinner as a surprise? Or maybe booking them a room in whatever city they are having dinner so the boys can have more fun and not worry about driving home after???

I think he can go out and have a great time whether its 2 people or 20, it doesn't matter. Also, if its a cost thing I think its a nice thought about a gift card or sending drinks their way. I say whether its friday or saturday night, bars and other bachelor places will be open for business and they should have a great time. You have a great time for you in AC as well!

Re: Feel so badly...

That's terrible. I know how you feel about wanting him to have a great time. My FH's dad and my dad are going to the bachelor party and I am so afraid they are going to do the 'Dad' thing and ruin their good time. Don't want them to start talking about how drunk everyone is. Just want him to relax and enjoy himself.
