Re: feeling a bit relieved!
thats great, what hall are you leaning towards booking? I would book your church right away, and then maybe your dj or photographer since many of the popular vendors on here book up fast...
good luck!

Have you checked Helens Bridal in Commack? I was there today, and tried on the Vogue Royal. It was beautiful

Re: feeling a bit relieved!
I saw that dress today at RK Bridal, they have the Vogue Royale for 1400, so the Vogue may be around the same price

Re: feeling a bit relieved!
Hey ladies... I'm new and haven't yet even completed my profile... I'm not even really familiar with the site yet!! So please have patience ;)
My wedding is going to be in June of 2010... Is it too early to start trying gowns, especially if I already have mine picked online?? ;) And when should I start looking at reception sites? Are they starting to book up yet?
I have a singular situation because I will be starting medical school in August of 2009 and so I won't even be around for the ten months leading up to my wedding, so I need to get a lot of planning done early. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Welcome and congrats on your engagement!! Congrats on medical school, too!
Several of us have already booked our RHs and other vendors (i.e, photography, video, photo) so it's not too early for any of that... or for the dress shopping, especially since you'll be in medical school in 2009. Get what you need to get done, when you need to get it done! It's your wedding
You'll find most vendors are pretty receptive to booking early, those that aren't.. aren't worth your time Two or three girls here have already ordered their dresses too!!

It's definitely not too early to start checking out reception sites. I've had mine booked for a month and I'm sure a couple of other girls have had theirs booked a lot longer than me.

Re: feeling a bit relieved!
Wow that's amazing!! If you look at these 'wedding countdowns' in bridal magazines, it usually says a year is more than enough time to start planning but I guess they didn't know about us LI girls ;)

Re: feeling a bit relieved!
yeah but the good places book up fast especially if you have a specific date in mind. Also if you are preping for med school you dont want to have to worry start as early as possible so you dont have to rush. Also go try on the dress you love asap i did that and when I tried on the dress it looked ridiculous so now i have a better idea what to look for over the next few months...I think im gonna buy around the holiday...but good luck and CONGRATS!!!!!!!

Re: feeling a bit relieved!
Awwwwww thanks so much and congrats to you, too!!! Wow I had no idea all the good places book so early in advance... But hey, if it were up to me, I'd be WELL on my way with planning because it is sooo exciting!! I'm looking forward to making my appointments now to go see sites. Thanks also for your advice about trying on the dress early to make sure it looks as beautiful in person.
Which leads to my next question... Like I said, I love this gown online... It is a Maggie Sottero gown from I believe her latest collection. My question is, how easy or difficult is it usually to find a specific dress (that you saw online) in a store on LI? And if I can't find any store who carries this dress, is there any way that a store who carries Maggie gowns can order one for me that was not in their store? Thanks a lot!!!
