Feeling blue

Feeling blue

I just moved here about 1 week ago. My FH lives in Brooklyn w/ his parents and I moved in with him and them. I am from CT and really miss my mom, dog and house very much and I am also trying to get used to these trains b/c I will most likely be taking them to commute to work. I really hate the trains and get extremely nervous when I am by myself on them. I can't stop thinking about how horrible its going to be taking these trains. I do have a lisence, but I am too nervous to drive here. I do having family in the city I talk to them everyday but I still miss home and my puppy. I just feel like I had to tell someone.

Ahhh...

So many to you. Hang in there. You are homesick but it will grow on you.

I don't blame you for feeling homesick. Things will get better, and your family is still close by. I promise you that you'll get used to the trains... they do seem intimidating at first (they're crowded and the subway system can seem complicated when you're not used to it) but with practice you'll be navigating like a pro!

(BTW, I know people who were told, when they first moved to NY, never to ask someone for help with the subway map. That's nonsense! Pick someone who looks nice and ask if you aren't sure about something.)

New York is a great place to live! I hope you'll enjoy experiencing all it has to offer!

I used to feel that way about trains. In fact, I fainted my first time going to the city alone for my first day of work!

But it become second nature and so easy you won't even think twice. Hang in there.

to you. You definitely came to the right place!!! Not only is everyone on here so, so, so supportive, a lot of us are city people. You should definitely go to the get together on the 15th of October!!!

Also, many, many of us are homesick too... SHana (btrflygrl) moved to GA, a few girls are in FL, soon2bmrs moved to Ireland and I'm here in London...so we're all here for , advice, support, etc.

Don't worry, it will get better. and CT is so close!!!!
