Feeling disorganized . . . sorry long-ish

Feeling disorganized . . . sorry long-ish

Hi everyone,
So, I'm feeling very disorganized / overwhelmed lately - like I have too many balls in the air. I think I started out strong with the planning and lately I've been feeling kind of lost.

Right now I am waiting to hear back from Oksana about doing a make-up trial on the day of my e-shoot - I emailed her almost a week ago and no response yet. So this is on hold.

I started looking at bm dresses . . .

Started looking at invitations because, ideally, I want my STDs (which I will send out in October) to match my invites . . .

Still haven't decided on a florist. Am waiting to hear back from Sugar Magnolia's about an appointment with them.

I just feel so all over the place. I need direction and focus - help!!

TIA

Take a deep breath. Try to plan 1-2 things to do at a time. For instance, my summer plan is to finish up flowers and pick invitations. I'm supposed to meet with my florist next week so he can show me samples. Also next week I plan to go look at places to see different invites.

I've found that giving myself 1-2 big things each month or two works real well, keeps me on track, and keeps me less stressed.

Awww i know how you feel b/c im feeling the same way, just take it one step at a time. Im feeling overwhelmed too, so im gonna take alil break for a few days. I would say tackle one thing at a time b/c when you try to do so much its becomes overwhelming. HTH and hang in there

Don't worry its normal to feel overwhelmed, just take on one thing at a time.

Don't stress!! It will all fall in to place. FH and I took like a 3 month hiatus from wedding planning (we had a vacation and an E-Party in June and with the planning for that - it kept us extremely busy). Within the past 2 weeks or so I have gotten a little stressed because I realize that I really need to get on the ball with getting the big stuff done. So, I sat down and organized myself and outlined what I will be working on over the next month (ie - makeup trial last week, florist appt tonight...hopefully will book florist w/in the next 2 weeks!, BM dress appt to order the dresses with my girls next week, start invitation shopping w/in the next 2 weeks, and booking limos by September) Oh, and just mailed the STDs this past Monday (and I wanted to get them out in June originally...oops). So, just breathe, relax and sit down and make a timeline/list for yourself and it will all work out!

You have so much going on so it's very easy to feel the way you do!! Maybe hold off on the BM dresses until you get either the invitiations or florist out of the way.
Good Luck!

Thanks so much, everyone. I have been doing one thing at a time up until this point and its been going well, but for some reasons I feel compelled to do flowers and bm dresses together - I guess because they need to coordinate to some degree.

Invites I can hold off on a bit - but what a nightmare. I sat at A Dazzling Affair last night for an hour just leafing aimlessly through their books. Does anyone have any good suggestions for letterpress invites?

Thanks again - I just hate feeling this way!!

Only do one or two things at a time and in between each thing you accomplish, take a week or two off!!

See, we booked our church and our hall 3 weeks ago and next week we have 4 appointments for Flowers....after that, we have 2 weeks off and then limos.....This way, you have some down time in between!!

Personally, I think you should choose your BM dresses before you even think of flowers. That way you can base your flowers off of the dresses. That's the route I took.

It's hard because I know what kind of flowers I want, but not BM dress . . . i'm working on it. Went to POB this past weekend and have an appointment with J. Crew on the 20th. I LOVE their chiffon dresses.

i agree with this- i brought a picture of my dress and the BM dresses with me and although i had a pretty good idea of what i wanted for my flowers, it helped a lot with picturing how the flowers will look all together with the dresses.

The same thing happened to me about a month ago. We did so much so fast that I was just too overwhelmed and super stressed. I literally took about 3 weeks off of planning anything just to give myself a breather and it really helped. I needed a little break and then took my time getting into other things and it really helped. Just breathe, everything will get done

Keep a list of when you want to do things by, and stick with it. That's what I've done, and it's been very, very helpful.
