feeling down

feeling down

I was feeling down the last few days and today it was so much that I didn't even care when I thought about how my wedding is in a month. I am really annoyed that a lot of my friends RSVP'ed that they are not coming. The 3 couples I invited from grad school each gave me BS excuses. One of them made me feel like crap today too because when I was telling her about how FH and I are taking dance lessons, she said I am doing so much to prepare for the wedding that I am going to be so bored after...... and she said it with a serious tone

Also, my schedule the next few weeks is SO packed. I wish I could go on my honeymoon and THEN get married

Someone give me some words of encouragement, please

Re: feeling down

First dont let other people make you feel bad. You are putting in all this energy to your wedding cause its your wedding. Yes we all will have far less planning to do when we are all married but thats not here or there. Comments like that shouldnt make you upset. Just blow it off. Its alot to have to plan a wedding work and do all the other things life hands us.

You should get a massage or do something that will take you out of your daily to-dos and get out of your head for a short while. I think we all have been in your shoes where its just too much. It will get better Just think in a few weeks you will be on your HM and forgetting about all that is stressing now..

Re: feeling down

everyone feels down on occasion, its going to be rough right before the wedding with all the planning and its easy for people, not married or not planning a wedding to judge, your friend is probably in a much different place right now and she doesnt seem like a good friend if she cant see how important this is to you......

so long story short, your wedding will be a perfect, beautiful and wonderful day with you showing your love to each other... then honeymoon will be here before you know it.

dont worry about what other people think, just focus on your love for FH and how happy you both will be on your wedding day!!!!

ps maybe get a massage to help you relax and reflect on good things really are...you deserve it!!

Re: feeling down

People say stupid things sometimes. I know it is annoying that your friends from grad school have BS reasons for not coming, but really it is THEIR loss, not yours. Also, as far as being bored after the wedding, whatever.

You should be commended for putting so much time and effort into your wedding. You are doing this because your marriage means the world to you and you want to remember every second of your wedding day as vividly as you can. Because trust me, when you are feeling down, you will have that memory of your perfect first dance to put a smile on your face. That is something that you and your FH will share, as well as the other things you are doing, that will serve as a base for a long and happy life together.

Re: feeling down

I have also had issues with 'friends' who have let me down during an important time of my life or when I needed them the most.
I didn't stop talking to these people -- they just got shifted over to my 'acquaintance' list

Although I did hear something today that made me think -- someone at my job said they couldn't go to a certain 'first communion' because of money problems -- they felt like they couldn't afford a gift so they shouldn't go. Now they probably won't share that with the parents of the kid -- it'll just look like they couldn't be bothered -- food for thought.

And people know you'll talk about them if they give a 'cheap' gift or no gift at all. This has been mentioned more than once on this site.

hugs to you

Re: feeling down

wow girls, thank you so much for all your insightful responses!! I think I just may do that spa idea and get a massage. I actually have a gift card from spa finder from my bridal shower.

I think that after next week is over, the excitement will really pick up. I have A LOT to do next week and not all of it is wedding related so it's stressful and its preventing me from really enjoying the moment. After next week is over, I hope to be bouncing off the walls lol

I really appreciate what everyone has said...... seriously put me in the mood to have a GTG
