Feeling stressed...

Feeling stressed...

I saw the doctor today- actually my OB's partner, for a regular check up. She said I was very 'compact' in the belly region but the baby felt like the right size. We are going to have another ultrasound next week just to check. So of course now I am worried...

More important, got some bad news from a friend today who just had a second little boy. He has agenesis of the corpus callosum- basically a part missing from his brain that connects one half to the other. They really can only just wait and see now how things turn out. All of the other tests have been normal which is good news. I just feel so sad and scared for them, you really never know.

Re: Feeling stressed...

What would you tell me? You would tell me that stress is not good for me or the baby so try to relax. I am sure you are just working a lot and not gaining a ton of weight..are you eating well? The baby is probably just happy and doesn't need a lot room just yet.
I am really sorry for your friend- how truly scary. I hope that all goes okay with her baby!

Re: Feeling stressed...

Please do not worry about the size of your belly. I measured 2-3 weeks behind schedule for most of the prgnancy. It got to be 4 weeks behind by 35 weeks. Every time they sent me for a sono to be sure the baby was not too small and the fluid level was high enough, I was told everything was fine. The baby was estimated to be 8-1 if born at 40 weeks. All the OB's said not to worry - I just carried her very compactly. She was born almost 3 weeks early and was perfect. This is not one of the things you need to worry about. I think you just carry small. It is something to be grateful for.
