I am actually in sales ... and trust me ... a vender would rather you say went with another company than have you avoid the follow up calls.

Just send an email ....

Don't worry I am sure that they hear it all the time, but I did feel bad when I told the RH that I wasnt going with them.

well I have never had any of them hold a date for me but you don't have to call vendors back to let them know you aren't booking with them if you met with them

I agree that they'd probably appreciate the call or they'll end up calling you anyway... just thank them for the courtesy of holding the date and say you wanted to show them the same courtesy by telling them immediately when you booked elsewhere. It's all business, their feelings won't be hurt. I feel worse when it's like, a DJ because it's based on them really! I still can't face our #2 DJ choice.

I felt the same way when I was going to go with Jericho Terrace but at the same time, they get sooo much business that I was ok in the end

I felt bad calling one RH b/c the owner met with us personally b/c my Dad sort of knew him...and he gave us an incredible deal...and I still felt so strongly about going with a different RH

i've only had one vendor (florist) that kept calling me after my appt with them.... its better to just tell them ur not booking with them so they don't keep annoying you!

Re: feelings on vendors?

def let them know as soon as you find out! The longer you wait the worse it will be, not only will you cancel on them but then its less time to look for someone to take your date... it *****, but they will appreciate it more than you avoiding them. its really not as big of a deal as it seems.... they have to hear it all the time!!
