felt like a bridezilla for a second

felt like a bridezilla for a second

so I saw FH this morning and he handed me the 'sample' engagement party dinner invitation that his mom made for us.. and she is very crafty and handy and DIY type of person and i think that's MORE THAN WONDERFUL and I was happy that she made the invite for us.. really and truly I was she asked me about 3 weeks ago what my colors were... so I said Red, Black, White, and Silver!!! when I opened up the sample.. the invitation was PINK!!!!!!!!!! I was a little confused..... so FH said. she told me to tell you that she had no red paper.. so she had to go with pink....... and she didn't get to go out to the store.... but if you really want it RED.... she can go out and buy different card stock,e tc... so I was thinking to myself,,, YES OF COURSE I WANT THEM RED!!!!! but I was like ooo it's nice enough that she's doing it for us...... so I move onto other stuff and then before he left and we went to work.. i had a moment and i was like... I DONT WANT TO BE A BRIDEZILLA BUT I REALLY WANT TO FOLLOW OUR COLORS!!! and he looked at me and smiled with a ... 'I was wwaiting to see how long it would take for you to be honest'

I felt bad being picky!!!!!

So now she is going to hunt for 5x7 pieces of Red Cardstock.....i feel bad making her look soo hard for the supplies.....

Am I being too picky?

NO you are not being picky. It also shouldn't be hard to find red card stock. Red is a popular color and if she offered that she would get the red then don't feel bad.

I feel like playing devil's advocate here for a sec with a lil comment... No1 is going to remember the colors of your eparty/wedding or the invitations or even notice if they did/didnt match up... Unless it was some weird funky color that would stand out in peoples mind... I guess i just never really understood the whole color scheme concept...

I was just perplexed because she made a BIG DEAL about me picking my colors in time for her to make the invites.. so I did and she was happy that I did.. and then she didn't use them...

Although all is better now.. she is going to look for red cardstock.. and make them using red not pink...... cause i told her that I LOVE THEM and I love the design, but shedoesn't have red cardstock in the house.. so I said I would go get it...look at michaels etc.

She was easy going with it and said sure1

just felt kinda like a bridezilla with wanting my color scheme soo badly but I think it's because everyone pushed me to pick one that then I finally had one.. and it was like ooo well we are using other colors lol lol

I kind of agree with this, so if she can't find red card-stock don't get too stressed out. It could either be REALLY easy to find with Valentine's Day coming, or it could be hard to find because everybody has used it all up for Christmas and Valentine's Day. In the end, I don't think anybody will really notice or remember. Our wedding theme is butterflies, but the invites I like aren't butterflies and I just made the decision that in the end it doesn't matter. So don't worry too much about it!!!

But wasn't that just the sample? She would have had to go to the store to get the supplies to get the actual invitations, right?

Yea It hought she would have to go to the stores...! But I think she was going to use whatever she had in the house... but all she really needs is the red cardstock.. so i offered to look for it I think I saw it in Michaels just the other day

I was going to suggest you maybe going with her to look for it or maybe going to where you saw it and picking it up since shes making them........I would have had a HUGE BRIDEZILLA moment about the colors matching PERFECTLY

awww..your not a bridezilla at all!!! It would be a different story if she already made ALL of them..but thats what a sample is for and I'm sure she is happy that you are being honest with her,and I'm sure she wants you to be happy with the final result which is why she sent a sample in the first place. I was going to suggest picking it up yourself since that seems to be her only concern..but you already are!!! It should be easy to find..AC Moore has a TON of cardstock..you can usually buy them in books and everything..they aren't too expensive either.

I can understand you wanting certain colors but, i think if you want those colors you should go find the cardstock you want and buy it for her to use

your too funny... no one will remember, but if it is important to you then it is fine to say your opinion nicely and offer to buy it yourself. I think you handled it well Miss kristen!
