FH chose his childhood female friend to be his best man. It's time for the G's people to start hunting down their attire. Best man is having a dress made to resemble one of Catherine Zeta-Jones' many dresses. I thought 'oh, cool, she has some very elegant dresses', but I received word from her today that it's a knee-lengthed cocktail dress.
Should I be bothered about this, considering everyone else in the BP will have long evening gowns?

well, I'm looking for something that would match, and I have to say that it did worry me when she said knee-length. It doesn't really match everyone else in the BP (tuxes & evening gowns), and she's in a cocktail dress.
I replied to her email asking for her to make the dress longer, and have not received a reply. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going nuts... lol.
And for the record, I suggested that she wear the same dress as the bridesmaid, just in black, and she & FH nixed the idea.
Hey if worse comes to worse, I'll have her wear a tux, the a Best Man should wear! Jk... but that would be hilarious!

The brides maid dresss in black was a good idea. She really shouldn't have too much of a choice. The groomsman are told waht to wear, so she be told also. OF course your Fhisn't goignt o pick out a dres for her, but if you said, long black dress, how hard is that? I guess she wasnt to re-wear it, but that's not usually practical fora weddign party.

You're right... but I never told her what to choose. FH basically left it to her, but now that we know, I'm asking her to make it floor-length. We'll see what happens.

im going to be the best woman at my brothers wedding and he and i already agreed that i would wear a black female tuxedo with a long skirt (having it made) with a very sexy sequin top matching the colors of the bridsmaids. i have seen it in a bridal magazine and just added my own flair to it. i think she shouldnt be able to just wear what ever i think you should tell your dh that he needs to make sure that she blends not contrasts. i think a long black gown would be classic and sexy or she could even get a dress that is black on the bottom and the color of the bridesmaids so she matches but is still a lil different
