few checks and a question for you ladies as well.... (UPDATE WITH PIC)
so this weekend was a success.... 1. bridesmaids dresses came in :) 2. had a hair trial with jenn and let me tell you she really is a hair genie--- amazing! :) about to book her. 3. went to this wholesale jewelry store in NYC--- fm for info but they had great BM gifts for cheap!
question for you all....
next i need to find a good jeweler were i can buy my ring. i guess since i want platinum and diamonds everything seems to be $$$ and out of our budget. i can never seem to pick something that is in our budget :( so far everything has been over $3,500... someone help me find a good reasonable price jeweler. Unless this price is normal? i feel like its alot to spend on a band. am i being unrealistic?
PIC IN ALBUM OF MY DREAM BAND... LOL

i think it really depends on what style of band goes best with your e-ring. for us we really lucked out because my e-ring has pave diamonds around the center stone and a wedding band with pave diamonds looked way better than a band with bigger diamonds so we lucked out on price there.
have you tried the diamond district in the city? that might be your best bet because then you can shop around to different jewelers to find the best price

FH and sister's FH's have jewelers that I would recommend but what kind of a ring are you looking for? You said you wanted platinum and diamonds but is it a lot of diamonds (and big ones?) i mean, if you want an eternity w/ decent size diamonds and not the pave ones, i can see why it'll be expensive.
congrats on your checks btw

congrats on the checks!!!!
Rach-- we used Rafael in the Diamond District at Diamond Creations by Rafael. # 212.575.8652 76 West 47th Street. My ering was custom made by him in platinum and my band has to molded from his design. He is definitely worth checking out-- our best friends got thier erings and bands custom made by him as well in platinum.
If you happen to go... let him know Joe Conti referred you. Hope this helps!!! xo

my band isn't platinum but it's 14K gold and i paid $2000 for a 3 carat eternity band from Gold Star jewelers in Tri County. i don't ever plan on wearing the two rings together so it's OK that my wedding band is gold and my ering is platinum

ha! i am looking at pave diamonds bc my band is the same thing. but i am looking for prob 2 rows of it or one row with diamonds on the front and back (sides) as well .... so it is a little bit more substancial incase i want to wear it on its on. i went to the diamond district (but only 1 place) where FH got my e-ring and i think we were priced pretty high.

and they quoted you over 3 grand!!! girl you gotta go to Tri-County!!! i went to Turkan. check out my album the pics are a little blurry becuase it was a camera phone, but my band is a half eternity and 2 rows of pave diamonds, it almost comes to a slight dome shape, its a very similar look to klohe kardashians ring. its not platinum though its white gold but i only paid $600.

i went to Turkan, mines technically a half eternity but it goes pretty much 3/4 of the way around, plus the rest of the band is very detailed with cuts and designs in the gold makes it look antiquey (im wording this weird lol) so unless your up close to the back of my hand it looks like it still has diamonds back there.

That is SOME band, so I think $3500 is a fair price for that, especially in platinum. I was looking at one with pretty much hald as many diamonds for around $2K.
I have a fantastic jeweler in Queens though. I can't recommend him enough. He just re did my grandmother's 72 year old ring (which his grandfather made...that's how long we've been going to them) and it looks absolutely amazing!!!
