FFIL

So I don't know how many of you remember me saying that FFIL is very sick. He has limbic encephalitis which is basically when his antibodies are attacking his brain. It was brought on by a floating lung cancer and is very rare.

So he has been a lot worse. They took him back to U. of PA hospital last week. He is still cancer free, thats the good news, but the antibodies are worse and attacking his brain at an alarming rate. Because it wrecked his eyes he is having cataract surgery tomorrow then Monday they are going to discuss options another IVG treatment (a transfusion basically) or maybe having to institutionalize him.

FH is really freaking out and he doesn't get that emotional, but he is so upset. Its so hard having this over our wedding, knowing that he may not be able to make it, because he might not even understand what is going on and might make the day more stressful for everyone else, like his mom. We knew this was a possibility. I would have been an 08 bride if this hadn't happened. It put getting engaged on hold, until we made the decision that this could go on for a year or 10 and life has to go on.

Thanks Ali, its been going on since Sept 2007, but it always is hard when FH takes him to Philli and learns of new developments or whenever he takes a turn for the worse (when you think he can't get worse). And FMIL is so stressed its taking a toll on her health as well. I worry about FH sometimes, how he is handling the stress.

Its basically like he has a combo between Parkinsons and Alzheimers that came on at rapid speed and when he was only 59.
