FFIL....a 'kind of' vent...UPdate!

OK, so FH and I were at FFIL's house and he starts talking to us about the wedding. He then turns to me and says 'so, I hear your shower is on October 20'. So, I'm just looking at him like 'is it? I don't know when it is...it's a surprise'. He says to me 'come on, you know all the details of everything' and I'm like ummm...no, not the shower! So the three of us are just standing there in silence and he's like 'oh, it must be something else I'm thinking of'.
I've never had a surprise party of any kind...ever, so my mom and aunt were really dedicated to making it a surprise. I haven't said anything to them b/c I don't want to upset them. Plus, I don't want FFIL to be upset that he blew up the spot totally! FH is insisting that it's not Oct 20, but I guess we'll see. I have to practice my 'surprised' face! lol

Sorry so long...I'm not mad...I'm just kinda disappointed

UPDATE: My shower WAS Saturday 10/20/07...I was hoping FFIL was trying to throw me off, but it was beautiful anyway. Even though I had an idea, nothing prepares you for the sea of faces staring at you when you walk in the door! LOL

My girls did this really cool game...they asked FH 20 questions before the shower. He answered them. AT the shower they gave everyone a copy of the questions and they had totry to answer them. Then FSIL asked me the questions in front of everyone and whoever got the same amount of questions right that I did won a prize. It was hysterical!! I've never played a game like that at a shower before!! It was so much fun!

awww i'm sorry, that really stinks hopefully the old mad just got confused and it's really not on the 20th

aww that stinks he blew it.. well at least he didnt show u the invite.. so u dont know all the details.. u'll still have fun though!!

Aww- what a disapointment. You are right I wouldn't say anything to your mom & aunt. I think no matter what you will still be surprised just walking in wherever it is and seeing everyone.

but id mention to your fam that he told you - if i was your mom i'd be PISSED at him......he SHOULD feel bad!!! he may have potentially ruined the surprise for you!!! and he may have ruined all the hardwork that your family and friends put into the surprise - they deserve to know.....if they find out that he gave it away on their own and you pretend to be surprised they might be annoyed at you for faking.....i know it would hurt my feelings if i knew someone was pretending to be surprised b/c its like you are lying - thats jmo though....if i planned something and the surprise was ruined i rather the person be honest with me then pretend....

i am actually going to call FH right now and make sure his family knows it is a surprise! i could SO see them doing something like that.

i wouldnt tell your mom. . . even if i find out i am not going to tell my mom - just act surprised and never ever let her know!

let her have her big moment - they work so hard to maek it special for us!
