Re: FG dresses?
I didn't want to buy my FG a dress from a bridal salon and pay $$$$ since she would only wear it once. So I went to Macy's and got her an adorable Easter dress for like $40.

Re: FG dresses?
We also did David's Bridal, since she is in Mass and I think its silly to make them pay a lot for a FG dress. They have a HUGE selection too.

Re: FG dresses?
David's Bridal.... the only thing I bought there for my wedding. but they arrive quick and i needed a style that looks more elegant and not so babyish (my FG is 9) and there were many there that were for girls her age (i.e. not full of tulle!)

Good one!! I never would have thought of that. My FG will only be two, so there is absolutely no sense in spending a lot of money on her dress.

Re: FG dresses?
I went to every fancy shmancy FG dress store and website and found nothing. I was looking for a specific dress. It's not even fancy but I found it on eBay!
We haven't bought them yet, but I'm sure we're getting our dresses from Pegeen. www.pegeen.com I'm having four junior bridesmaids, from ten to fifteen, and a seven-year-old flowergirl. I've seen many pretty junior bridesmaids dresses, however, the ten-year-old is a plus size and it's nearly impossible to find matching dresses for the three older girls and the flowergirl. (the fifteen-year-old will be in a similar adult bridesmaid's dress, probably Watters or WToo.) Pegeen has both plus sizes and custom fitting, where they send you a muslin bodice that you fit and mark up on your child, then send it back, and they make it to those measurements. Several of the girls are also really tall--I'm nearly six feet tall, it runs in the family. All the dresses are a bit 'young,' but the older girls will have the option of wearing a dress wtih a deeper scoop neckline that looks a bit more mature. I don't care which ones they get, as long as the older girls are in navy silk with a buttercream sash. The flower girl will be in buttercream with a navy sash. Those are my wedding colors, if you couldn't guess. They make a lovely color combo. At the bottom is the basic dress, but in white.
We went to Designing Dreams in Mineola. They drew a picture of the dress my fg was going to wear and then they made it for her. It was so gorgeous.. she was like a little bride and they made her feel so special.
And believe it or not, it didnt cost that much more than going to a normal bridal store..
what a great experience for a young girl (and for me too, it was so much fun)
