FG HELP

FG HELP

Okay I have consumed many a beverage butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
I just checked house voicemail and my FG dress is ready.

Knowing that my FSIL is a C U Next Tuesday.......
do I pick it up and keep it until February 12th or do I pick it up (yes I paid for it) and drop it off to FSIL?????????????

Please help me. What is the RIGHT thing to do???

My only concern with holding on to it until the day before the wedding is the sizing. How will you know for sure that it'll fit the FG?

I would take it to her (so she can try it on) & offer to hold on to it if she doesnt want to (or she doesnt have enough space for it)

ITA - is there any way you can be like 'the dress came in, I want FG to try it on and then we can see how it looks?' and sort of control the situation so that you don't just leave it with your FSIL?

FSIL said she was a size 7.......I could not zip up the 7 so I ordered the 8. FG is on steroid shots because she has some disease which would stunt her growth.

I have had nightmares......and my sister/MOH have had similar nightmares about FG dress being switched right before walking down the isle so that she looks like a mini me.

Seriously...FSIL has never had to deal with MIL or SIL's so she is the ultimate **** stirrer.

She's nuts!

How about this: have her come by your house so the FG can try on the dress. Have a friend at your house. This friend is good at tailoring clothes...or at least, that's what you tell FSIL. Kid tried on dress, your friend pretends to jot down a couple of notes and pinches the dress in here or there, you send FSIL and FG on their merry way, dress stays in your possession and you know it fits, and you and your friend crack open some wine.

As long as the dress fits right, then that plan will work.

LOL as soon as I saw this thread and I saw that you wrote it I was like 'WHAT DID HER B!TCH FSIL DO NOW?!?!'

Do not relinquish control of this dress!!!!!!! Will she let you take FG for a couple of hours on your own or is she totally batshizz crazy?? If you can take FG, just pick her up and try on the dress yourself...if not, then definitely have a friend fake like they know some shiz about tailoring...just give her some pins and let her pin it here or there and take measurements haha...but KEEP THAT DRESS and the day of, have FG put on her dress like as late as possible....oh lord I wanna hurt your FSIL!!!

Alcolol or not....Ilana knows that she is my 'go to gal' when I need unbiased advise........
I will make a play date for FG, FH and myself when school is out...........I will keep u posted....I wish I could put you and FH up nearby and have some support......................sorry. Hope you had a great time at the Mason's celebration.
