It seems my FH finds something to knit pick about on a daily basis. It's driving me crazy!!! I feel like he doesn't want our wedding to be special, just cheap. We argue about how much things cost all the time!!! I come from a family that believes 'you only live once so live it up', he comes from the exact opposite. It was never a problem in our almost 10 year relationship until now. I'm very frustrated!!! Anyone else having this problem?

Re: FH and I are arguing ALOT!!! Anyone else???
When looking for a hall or a vendor the ONLY question FH asks is 'how much?'. He doesn't seem to understand the 'importance' of cp's, or 'why do we need that 3rd limo again' he really only seems to care about what it's going to cost..... we're not fighting over it, but it's annoying.... I just do this to him

Yes, FH wanted a small wedding so he argues with me about how I am going all out. I don't even bother to argue anymore. I just say'Whatever' One day he is excited about everything the next he is complaining how much everything cost. Things are not cheap, especially weddings.

FH and I are arguing, but mostly not over the wedding - over stupid stuff that in the scheme of things mean nothing. After not speaking for a week over the dumbest of things, we had a long talk and got things straightened out. I am now making it a priority to have a least one night a week that is about us with no wedding discussion whatsoever.
As for wedding disagreements, unfortunately I have the opposite problem - he wants to throw the budget out the window and spend like crazy, and I want to make sure that I don't sacrifice the quality of any vendor because he wants to use a different baker than the hall provides and get a $1000 cake!

Hey I am all for spending money if you have it to spend and you dont go into debt, But if my cak was worth $1000, it darn well better be covered in gold leaf!

I too am all for spending money - IF we had it, which we don't. We're on a strict budget, and I don't care if calla lilies are my theme - $1000 to have 100 of them cascading down the cake is a bit rich for my blood. I'm not cutting people off the guest list to pay for it.

My FI and I also disagree about prices. We don't have a ton of money to spend and I am really not going crazy, but he asks how much everything is and if it will fit in the budget. I actually just posted a question on Brides helping Brides about BP gifts because he doesn't agree with how much I want to spend. Even if I say I will take it out of my own money, he says we will need that money when we are married.

I think we talk about the wedding MAYBE 1 time a week - that helps keep things more normal and less stress-related!!!

Of course, Awhile back I started a poll on this board that asked is your FH getting on your nerves. alot of the ladies gave me good advice. Like agree to whatever he says. Then do what u want. On the wedding day he'll be so overwhelmed he won't know what hit him any way.

Trust me, my FH will know! He keeps very close track of our bank account. We started arguing yesterday b/c he freaked when i told him how much hair/makeup was going to be (i'm paying for my BM's as part of their present). We ignored each other for about an hour and then I started crying and told him to forget it and I'll just do my own hair and makeup and he felt really bad! He felt so bad that he said I could have anything i wanted! It's great to be a woman!!!

Actually for us it was quite different. DH wanted this big wedding while I wanted something very small and intimate.

yes.. we have been arguing as well... i'm not a spend thrift by any means but I do want a nice wedding... I like the little extras that are available that make your wedding different from others and my finance also only asks about what it costs and doesn't understand why we need those 'extras' when none of our friends did that. He feels if nobody else did it than why do we have to. So annoying!
