FH and I have to write a summary of why we choose each other
As part of the ceremony, the priest will be reading parts of a summary we have to write about one another and why we are together. We are not allowed to read each others so we will be hearing for the first time along with our guests. It's not as easy as it seems. I know what I want to say, but it's hard tp put it down on paper. My friend and her husband did this at their wedding and it really personalized it and it was as if they wrote their own vows. Just thought I'd share.

Wow, sounds interesting. What religion is this? Is this a rule

I am catholic and Scott is jewish. It's not a rule, it is just something this priest likes to do.

I think that is a nice idea. You should write about when you first met Scott, like your first impressions. Instead of just writing WHY you chose Scott you should use litle anecdotes to explain why. I think that is going to be very cute

thats a nice idea to personalize your ceremony My FH and i are writting our own vows. good luck and i agree with julz about writting how you met and anecdotes

Our cantor is having us do something similar which he may share parts of during the ceremony - how we met, one thing funny about how we got engaged, and what we like the most about each other... we won't see it either before wedding!!

I think my church St. Frances does that... althought I havent made my appointment with the deacon yet. We did have to write something for Pre-Cana.

I just wanted to tell you that I saw this at a wedding a few years ago and it was AMAZING!!! I loved it! So much so, that my FI and I are going to use it in our ceremony. It really does make it all really personal, and it was so cute to watch them as each statement was read because they hadn't heard them before.

I think that is a greaty idea!!! My DH and I wrote our whole ceremony. We did not hear each other's vows until the actual ceremony. It was difficult to express what I feel so deeply with words, but after SEVERAL drafts I finally came up with what I wanted to say. I think it is wonderful that your officiant wants to make the ceremony about you two!!!
