So I have my 'surprise'bridal shower in NY this weekend. I'm being told that it's my brother's birthday party, but as mentioned before, I was looking through FH email for something and found one for the shower.
So this being said, FH just told me that he doesn't want to go down to LI for the shower if he's not going to the party, it's a waste of his weekend (we live in MA). I'm really upset about this, but should I? I mean, it looks like he's not going down for my brother's birthday. I don't know.
Did your Fh attend your shower? I don't know anything about etiquette etc for bridal showers.

DH took me there and left....He didnt want to be there neither did I want him there.
Does he have a place to stay here in LI while your at the shower?

From what I've seen the FH usually comes in and says hello to everyone at the beginning, then comes back at the end to help pack up all the stuff.

When I had my Boston shower my DH said the same thing - and I let him stay home. He did come with flowers to my NY shower though. He wasn't missed at the Boston shower - but I did miss him on the 4 plus hour ride back and forth.

He does. The shower is less than 5 minutes from my parent's house plus all my brothers will be around. there's a lot for him to do on LI too

i dont blame him for not wanting to come but i do think it is the right thing for him to do. he can go spend the day with your brother anyway since i assume its ladies only at the shower....

fh took me i was told it was a 50th wedding annivesary party on his side so he got dressed up and all and took me we took pics after i changed my dress and he greeted our guest then left until he had to come back for our gifts

This is what my DH did. In between he and my dad hosted drinks and whatnot with the other menfolk in my family.

my FH met up with all his GM (their gf and wives attended the shower) and then he came in to help cut the cake and pack up.

FH was there when I arrived. He put on my corsage, left, and then came back at the end.
