FH being a pain about the HM!

My FH is driving me nuts! Our wedding is a little less than 10 months away and he has no desire to even discuss the HM right now. Then he tells me that he really doesn't want to go to a place and just lie around on a beach all day (meanwhile before he said that he was all, 'Wherever you wanna go is fine with me!). I said to him, 'So what if we ended up going to Bermuda or something, you mean you wouldn't have been happy there?' GRR!

Originally, he wanted to go to Italy, and I really want to go there, just not for our HM. I want to be relaxed and do things at a leisurely pace on our HM and if we go to Italy, we're going to be on a tour that has us up early and going to bed late every day/night.

Anyone have any ideas for something in between laying around on a beach and the fast-pace of a European HM? LOL! I told him I won't bring up the topic again til 2008 but I'd still love to hear your thoughts :)

Costa Rica ... that was my original plan, but it fell through for several reasons.

Also, with Italy you can get a combo of both, just limit your destinations. You can do a whole week on the Amalfi Coast, get some sun, and take a few days to do touristy things. Although I know what you mean - who wants to go to Italy and not explore???

This sounds EXACTLY like my situation!! He was not interested in helping, and he told me to book whatever I wanted, so I did. I know he isn't much of a beach person, but it was the cheapest way to go for us, using my grandmother's RCI timeshare. Sure enough, a couple months ago, he said he wants to go to Europe!! For the past couple months I have been researching it, and frankly, the airfare is WAY to much for us! Now he is saying he doesn't care, and he will go to Mexico!!! SOOO FRUSTRATING!

We're going to Costa Rica and I think it's exactly what you're looking for. We're spending half our time in a thached roof bungalow in the rain forest (lots of stuff to do, but you won't feel obligated) and then the second half in a bungalow on a secluded beach (nothing to do but lay around and relax). It's also super affordable. You can do a really luxurious trip for a ridiculous amount of money.
