FH called to give me some bad news & good news

My FH is currently in Iraq and has been there since August 2005. He was supposed to be officially out of the Army this past March, but was stop/loss and has to come back with his brigade.

Well he calls me today and said that he had some good news and some bad, which do I want to hear first. So I told him to give me the bad news. The bad news is that he will not officially be out of the Army until November 30th. That means he needs to get leave for our wedding and honeymoon then after the honeymoon, he has to go back to Ft. Drum and he'll only be home on weekends until he's out. Nice way to the start of a marriage.

The good news is that he'll be home the end of July

service men and women have one of the most difficult jobs i can imagine - one harder is being the wife/husband of one.

i am sorry that he is still going 2b stuck - but you'll get through it and he will be home soon.

He's been there since last June. I completely know the feeling, because they do have a stop/loss on his MOS he was supposed to be out this August, now who knows

But the good news sweetie is that your FH will be home in July. It stinks that you can only see him on the weekends to begin with, but in comparison to what you've been through this year its cake and it will make his 'ultimate' homecoming more worthwhile!!!!! Chin up sweetie, and I'm proud of you for being so strong!!! Yay for him coming home

This is the hardest job, next to the serviceman being away from home. My co-worker is always amazed how I'm getting through this everyday. She even calls me a soldier for for my attitude. I think I might've shed a few tears when he told me that he won't ETS until November 30th, but then I started running my mouth and sounded like a sailor of how I'm sick of all the military BS and how dare they keep you this freaking long when you were supposed to have been out in March. It just really pisses me off. He's just as sick of it as I am. They tell him one thing and do another. I seriously think they just make it up as they go along.

This is our second deployment, his first was to Afghanistan which he was there for 9 months. I should be use to this by now.

Wait a minute, am I reading it right? I'm taking it that he was just pulling your leg about November and is actually coming home in July. Or is he just coming for a visit in July?

He comes home from Iraq in July, but he will officially be out of the Army in November.

That is bad news- sorry to hear that.

But on the bright side- July is almost here.
