FH defended me!

FH defended me!

I posted recently about how I e-mailed my FMIL my hair trial pics and she responded that she didn't like the curls and that I looked old and tired....

Well...... FH saw her e-mail and went to speak to her about it. She claimed that she just didn't express herself clearly (English is her 2nd language but she's been here for 19 yeras) So he got really mad because she is actually an intelligent woman and he feels like she knows how rude and nasty the email was-- and they got into a fight. He said he wasn't buying her excuse and he's really pissed at her.

I actually felt sick about it when he told me because they are close -- and now the old woman will REALLY hate my guts

I can't win

English being her second language is a lame excuse... Old and Tired are two words that you do NOT use when describing your FDIL!

Good for FH for defending you!! That's a major thing for a son to do - especially if they are really close!!

Trust me - you are a lucky woman.

If I was in your situation, FH would have defended his mother.

You did win, you just don't realize it.

For the record - I think your trial came out beautiful!!!!

eta: and I still love the updo!

It's the trial in my album. It wasn't perfect and I'm going to work on finding the right style for the front but I don't think I looked old and tired!

She was just being a witch

Thank you :)
FH told me once that she prayed she would only have sons because she absolutely did not want any daughters -- maybe she's just off her rocker

ETA: I think maybe because it was in writing there was no denying how nasty it was -- it's not like she and I got into a fight and he heard about it afterwards.

I know you feel bad but this is NOT at all your fault...she was intentionally rude and hopefully she will cut it out now !!

Oh i am so sorry you had to hear those words. Your trial looks beautiful! My FMIL called me dumpy in my old dress I cried and switched my dress!!! So i feel your pain and we totally get along I didn't know why she felt that way!

MY FMIL also speaks English as a second language but has been here in the US for over 40 years...yet tries on occassion to play that same card....Your FH did the right thing because it will set the tone for the future of your relationship. She'll know for the next time to watch what she says or else she'll hear it again and also it shows her just how much you mean to him....

WAY TO GO (your) FH!
