FH didn't get the job....
This is the first time I am posting about this so I will start from the beginning...
FH went to college for criminal justice and took many exams (Suffolk PD, Nassau PD, etc). Nothing ever came of those jobs. In the meantime he worked elsewhere but always had that dream of being a cop.
FH planned to move to VA and it just so happened that I met him 4 weeks prior to his moving. So we've been long distance for the past 3 years.
About a month ago he applied for the county patrol officer position. His application was accepted. He had to get a check-up at the Dr. (passed), take the written exam (passed), take the physical exam (passed), go to a board interview with 3 other cops questioning him (no feedback). In the meantime he had two huge packets to fill out asking about every detail of his life including all past addresses, college transcript and high school transcript.
When he left the interview he was told to still finish the packet and get all of his documents including reference letters, etc. He had to hand them in by today, Oct. 23. SCCC wouldn't mail his transcript because the processing took too long, etc... and his parents couldn't remember every home address they've lived at.
So, Monday night FH came here. On Tuesday we got all of his information. 3am this morning FH drives back home, stops at the Sheriff's Dept. to hand in his packet, and then went home to change before heading to work. Well, when he got home and checked his mailbox, there was a letter already waiting for him stating he was not chosen.
I feel so sorry for him. He's completely exhausted and worked so hard. He really wanted this job. He said to me 'well, at least we can plan our honeymoon now'.
I just needed to vent....Thanks.
