Just started planning and it seems my FH doesn't really share my excitement and all of the planning. Did anyone else experience this too? Does it get better as time goes on? I hope so

Honey, it will get better as soon as time draws near. He is excited but not in the way women shares their excitement. That is a typical male reaction. Do worry about it.

I haven't experienced that. He's equally as involved as I am. We did ALL the planning together. Things will change, it's all new. hang in there.

Re: FH Enthusiasim
The guys are pretty much never as excited and giddy as us girls tend to be about the wedding. Figure it this way, they never sat around as lil boys dreaming about their wedding day. They didn't have their GI Joes walking down the aisle the way we used to with Barbie.
It's just different for guys, they kinda feel that much of the day is all about the bride. So they let the bride do what she wants and then they put their $.02 in with what they think is important. Ususally they tend to speak up when it comes to Limos, Tuxes, the HM, and music. As it gets closer guys usually get more excited. Don't worry if your FH says he doesn't care whether or not you carry lillies or peonies, for them it's just important that he gets to spend the rest of his life with you. Everything else is just bonus!!

It will get better. He is still in shock...! Start talking about the honeymoon, that's something he will look forward to!

For as thrilled as my FI is to get married - he couldn't care less about the wedding and its details. He's excited about 2 weeks in Hawaii too, but he barely shows it.
I think it depends on the guy. Some are totally into it - some are not. IMO - neither is right or wrong - just different.

It gets a little better! Mine is more enthusiastic when we talk about the band or the honeymoon. He was also enthusiastic about the hotel room block and the save the dates.
He's not as enthusiastic as I am though.

Re: FH Enthusiasim
I wouldn't worry. It's perfectly normal for the brides to be more into the planning than the grooms. After all, most brides have been dreaming about their wedding day since they were kids. I can't imagine many guys really caring about the flowers, the color of the BM dresses, whether the napkins match the color scheme of the wedding, etc. He'll be enthusiastic about the things he cares about (i.e. food, drinks, music). Also, some guys aren't planners and have trouble getting excited about things that are so far in advance. As the wedding day approaches, I'm sure he'll be more excited.

Re: FH Enthusiasim
I didnt have that problem, cause I needed my FH as a crutch.
But most guys are the same and it will get better. He def will be interested when you go to look at any of the following Limos, Hall Tastings, DJ.. That will start drawing his attention and then he will want to put his too sense in everything.
Also guys can be very demading when it comes guest list, they will want to invite everywhere from their mama to their 1st grade gym teacher!! Happy Planning..
If all else fails, bug him till he gets the hint

Re: FH Enthusiasim
My FH didn't want to plan right away, which was fine with me, gave me time to let it all sink in.
Now that we are planning he is involved and he got very excited when we booked the reception place.
Give it time...

Yeah...my DH wasn't really involved at all. And I'm glad because I think the more people involved the more difficult it can be. He was excited, but he didn't want to do any work. He let me handle all the details.

Re: FH Enthusiasim
Well mine has done this all before, so it's nothing new to him...
My family gave us a lot of grief in the beginning about what to do and how, which pissed him off and he at first we argued, but then he said he wasn't going to get involved with family issues anymore to avoid us killing each other...
But, he's kind of a low key guy - the Buddhist in him doesn't allow him to gettoo caught up with these types of things. It actually calms me down a bit and brings everything to perspective, but still, sometimes I wish he'd get a bit more exited about it....
