Has anyone here felt at some point during the planning of their wedding as if they wanted to snap FH's? I've been feeling this way about FH for about the past month or so and I've been noticing that it is happening more & more frequently. It's actually scaring me and I find myself thinking 'Is this right?' FH and I have been together for 6 1/2 years and this is driving me crazy. We've haven't fought like this since we were like 18 & 20 years old (we're 24 & 26 now)

Re: FH Frustration
is it because he's not helping with the planning, or is the frustration stemming from issues that are not wedding-planning related?

Re: FH Frustration
as for the wedding planning, i think you'll find that most guys are just not into it-----it's seen as more of the bride's thing to do. of course you'll find grooms-to-be that are very into the planning process, but i really think that they're in the minority. my FH tells me to just let him know the date and the time and what to wear and he'll be there!
and then there's the oh-so-popular frustration of the FMIL. again, you're not alone---hence, a thread dedicated to the *soon to be* women in our lives who drive us crazy. unfortunately, most men will defend their mother's to the end, and there's no amount of talking, screaming, crying or anything that will change their minds. it's their mom. end of story.
as for video games....can he maybe cut back a bit on it? maybe only play an hour a night or so? i know i spend forever on the computer and FH tells me i'm on it too much, but it's my stress relief. it's how i wind down. maybe it's just his way of relaxing. have you told him it annoys you?

i have wanted to snap FH's neck every breathing moment for the past year
No seriously though, weddings are so stress-filled. everyone says it, but you dont realize how much of an impact they have on your relationship until you get there. I have the constant feeling of 'i do everything, he doesnt even care about the details, why does he wait so long to do the things i ask him to take care of, is he even going to remember to be on time that day?!'
we fight more often and about more insignificant things than we did before we started the planning process. I find myself stressing constantly and he never understands why, which then leads to a fight. All I can say is....be patient....he's a guy. They will never care about the little wedding things as much and they dont understand why we care or why we stress. The best you can do is realize that the wedding is a big contributor to the feeling of wanting to kill your FH and when its all over, you two can relax and sit back and enjoy time spent together where you dont want to kill each other anymore

Re: FH Frustration
Wedding planning itself can be very stressful, so it is definitely understandable that you feel this way. Not only will it go away, but things will get much better with you and FH as time goes on. It is just wedding stress!

Re: FH Frustration
it will get better after the wedding, before hand you are stressed cuz you want everything perfect, let him know how you feel, that you want his help etc. he should understand, and sometimes if they are insisting on something just let him pick it, like my thank yous i picked my favorite 5 and let him pick the final one, i just didnt stress it, remember the wedding is a day to show poeple how you really feel for eachother dont over do it, the day will pass perfectly its not worht fusing over every little detail jsut have fun!!!

Re: FH Frustration
Wedding planning is very stressful and sometimes FHs (and men in general) can definitely add to the stress! There are so many times where FH has gotten on my nerves and I felt like hurting him Just take a deep breath and remember that you guys love each other!
Good luck!

OMG I am feeling the same way. It has to be all this stress. Well that is what I am hoping. We have been together for 8 years and never fought as much as we do now.
