So FH said, I have a question you need to post and see what everyone thinks, it was so cute..
His 1st cousin is 13 years old now and will be 14 at the wedding, we're very close with her and she really wants to be involved some how. She can't be a junior bridesmaid because I'm not involving my first cousins at all. I'm not close with them but they will be at the wedding.
Any ideas for things she can do to be involved??

Re: FH has a question to ask everyone
Are you getting married at a church? Maybe she can be a reader?

Re: FH has a question to ask everyone
are the guests tossing anything or blowing bubble etc. after the ceremony? Maybe she can walk around and pass them out to everyone? And/or distribute programs? (that is, if shes not comfortable doing a reading)

Re: FH has a question to ask everyone
She can do a reading during the ceremony maybe a poem or a blessing...
And why can't you have her as a junior bridesmaid if you are close with her... it's okay if you don't involve your first cousins but involve his...
We started out with an even number of girls on my side to his but then we added his cousins (who will be 15 and 18 on the wedding) so now it's uneven...

I was going to suggest this. She can meet and greet the guests as they walk into the ceremony and hand them their program

We can't have her as a bridesmaid because even though I'm not close with my 1st cousins they are around the same age as his cousin and my aunt would be upset that I didn't involve them...and my cousin has really bad behavioral problems

Re: FH has a question to ask everyone
I have a bunch of girls that I didn't involve in the bridal party because it would have made it too big. What I did was I asked them each to wear a special flower in their hair (I bought the pin with the silk flower) to show that they are still special to me even if they weren't standing up there.
I also picked 2 girls that I am the closest with that wasn't in the bridal party. I didn't trust my guys to do ushering so I offered those girls to wear the color of the bridesmaids dresses (black) and with the flower and asked them to be ushers. It was just some ways I got to involve special people without others really getting too upset and saying 'HEY! Why not me?' like I got when I picked my bridal party.

I agree with marisa .... your aunt and cousin will get over ... if your closer to your FH cousin than your own, she should very well be a part of it! Its his wedding too and they will all have to understand! My FH picked all the grooms and meanwhile i have 2 brothers! Everyone will get over it! One of my bro's will walk me down the aisle and the other will walk my mother being that my father has passed away so i see no problem in you making her a jr BM! I say DOOOOOOO ITTTTTTT!!!!

we are having my FH's young cousins hand out the programs in the church.. and just because you aren't getting married in a church doesn't mean she can't do a reading at the ceremony if she is ok with speaking in front of a large group.

We're Jewish so I don't think people do readings at jewish ceremonies. I think it's a good idea to have her hand out programs and bubbles....
Any other ideas?

She can hand out programs before the ceremony and petals/bubbles/wands after the ceremony.

My friend's had a ceremony where someone read a poem that meant something to them.. They are Christian but it was a ceremony outside so it didn't follow the format I've seen before..
How about ask your rabbi if there is a place for it in the format ? I don't know I'm clueless to Jewish ceremonies...
