(It seems like all I ever do here is complain, but...)
He's been so wishy-washy with the whole planning process, hence why we haven't booked a site or a date yet. He gave me such a hard time about even having a wedding because of the money, and then made me promise to stay within a ridiculous budget. I found a place that I really, really liked, was raving about it, and then found out that they wouldn't come down on their price. So now, today, I went to another place that he gave me the thumbs up on if I decided I liked it, and suddenly he's thinking about going back to the first place, which is $5 pp more than what I saw today. I told him that we would wind up going over budget for sure if we picked the first place, and he said, 'OK.' GRRRRRRR!
Now he's looking at all the different reception sites on the internet and telling me that we have to look at a bunch of places, although he really likes the first one (even though when I was raving about it and cried when I found out they wouldn't come down on their price and he said nothing about it), and now I'm afraid that the date we wanted and the quote that they gave us ($10 pp less than their usual price) will both be gone with the wind. One minute he's telling me to do whatever makes me happy and as long as I'm happy, he doesn't care about the details, and the next, he's deciding to get involved and making my life difficult. I just want to book a f*cking place already!
Oh, and if he tells me to relax one more time, I'm going to forcefully remove his head and place it up his arse!

Yup, good for 30 days, dated July 5. Waaaaay over 30 days now.
Xel (hope you don't mind if I call you that), it's so not easy to relax when someone is yelling at you to relax. BTW, I noticed in the Westbury thread that you live in Hempstead - I work there. We seem to have quite a bit in common!

Tell me about it. I was commuting from Brooklyn to Hempstead every day. Bleh! I'm gonna try to make it to the GTG...I'm hoping FH will attempt to be sociable and come with me.
And if I may borrow from Bartles and James, 'thank you for your support!'

welcome
PS: You can call me Xel or X in here.. dont matter much to me.. Xelindrya is a name I've been using for around 10years now. In real life some people who know me actually call me Xel (pronounced Zel) and I answer to it. No prob.
Other real life shorting of my name are V & Ronie. Take your pick.

Re: FH is driving me nuts! (VENT)
did you tell him how you feel..... and were you blunt about it? cause he may not know your steaming over this.
you know what I think.... (if you care to know) I think you should have him read the post you just made. mabe it would clarify some things for him. I think also think its a good idea to look at alot of places before making the correct decision. this is a big deal with a huge pricetag. shop around you never know what youll find. also what is your timeframe? how close is the wedding day of choice, perhaps you shold move it to a later date to make things a little more comfortable?? you shouldt have to stress about the wedding day untill a day or two before the wedding itself.
Communication is the key but mabe im wrong who knows I AM A GROOM AFTER ALL
but always the KING

Re: FH is driving me nuts! (VENT)
If there's one thing I can guarantee, it's that he knows exactly how I feel. I've never been one to not tell him when he's p*ssing me off, so now would be no different, especially with something this important. We can look at a ton of places, but most won't be within our price range. We have well over a year until our expected wedding date, and all the places we've looked at so far still have it open, but we're going to lose the date at every place if he doesn't at least get on board with me and give me his honest opinions right away, instead of a month and a half later!
Thanks for the input...even if you are a groom!

Maybe you could sugges tto him that you go with the place that you like and cut in other areas to stay under budget.

We are cutting in every other area, but he was the one who suddenly said that we should go over budget! After all the agita he gave me with whether or not we could afford a wedding, now he's telling me he liked the first place we looked at, and now it may be too late! I love him to death, but man, make up my mind already!

i agree with tommybride. be totally blunt with him! sometimes us girls take for granted that we just 'know' how this wedding stuff works! he might not realize how time sensitive some issues are, or how you are felling about this. good luck, keep us posted.

Re: FH is driving me nuts! (VENT)
The only way I could be more clear about this is if I were made of glass! I swear, I've been nothing but blunt with him, perhaps too blunt at times, but I know that I have to be with him. It's probably more my issue than his, because I just can't stop thinking about this and all the people that keep asking me when I'm getting married are only adding to it. We've been engaged almost 5 months and I still have no clue when or where we're getting married!
OK, I'm going to stop b*tching about this, because nothing's getting done today anyway, so what's the point? Thanks for all the responses!

Re: FH is driving me nuts! (VENT)
Venting is good. Communicate is key and all that but it's not always the answer. Compromise prehaps.. or craftiness.
No matter what, remember your day will be beautiful even if it were in a barn..you're getting married.
I had to come to that realization a long time ago. I may not have the pretty favors or the nice dance floor, I may not have the church or the other pretty things, but I have my FH and my dad to give me away. Im so happy about that.. I really could get married in a barn!! BAAAAA
Seriously.. It can be done.. sacrifices are made, compromised reached and so forth. Good luck.. and vent all you please.

Scoobie? Don't you think a wedding deserves to be performed by Shaggy? Besides, we live together. Who needs to pay for a motel to do the horizontal mambo?
Next?

Re: FH is driving me nuts! (VENT)
call me traditional - but i say if you're going to do it in vegas - you have to have elvis!
and i just read your response to tommybride...he thinks the wedding night is special so you should get a motel for the horizontal mambo, as you call it!
