Re: FH is insisting on Heavy metal at the wedding
FH is a metal head, so we found ways to incorporate as much as we could. Our BP walked out to KickStart My Heart by Motley Crue, we walked out to Ladies & Gentlemen by Saliva. Our cake cutting song was Pour Some Sugar on Me. We requested some metal songs, some they played, some they did not. But you can find ones that you can dance too. If i did the bo-k toss, it would have been to Girls Girls Girls, another Motley Crue song, which is also dancable. A lot of 80's hair band music can be danced too, or if it's harder stuff, they can play it during dinner when the music is lower, and people really aren't dancing or paying attention to the music. Try to stick to the poppy 80's metal like AC/DC, some Twisted Sister like C'mon feel the Noise (think it's TS anyway), Bon Jovi, Poison - Talk Dirty to Me. If they fast songs, and the guys will dance to it, others will too.

Re: FH is insisting on Heavy metal at the wedding
tell him you can still incorporate his music but to be tasteful. I am doing a Skinless song (death metal) for my bq toss, he got to pick an iron maiden song for the CH that is a not crazy, we both picked our last song to be a gwar song since we first saw each other at a gwar show when i was really young (realized this years later). We also have a internal bleeding song as an enterance song - slayer too.
So you can do it but not 100% of the time.

We're having some. Its what FH likes, so I think its fair to have some... We went to a wedding a few months ago for a guy he used to be in a band with, and they had lots of metal and it didnt sound weird...

its like a bar song..u just sit there and like sing along to it....suggest it for the cocktail hour..heavy metal/ bar music may turn out 'fun'

Re: FH is insisting on Heavy metal at the wedding
If it were up to my FH , we would have an all 80's hair metal wedding( or all metal/rock ) , which I enjoy as well but I talked him out of it simply because it is not as dance-able by the masses . Our 'metal ' list Livin on a prayer Pour some sugar on me - cake cutting song you shook me all night long intro song - TnT
If he really wants a few heavier and many of his friends love it, I would give him a few at the end of the night, when most older people have left AND everyone is bombed, so they will dance to anything

I think all the songs people have said are okay. I didn't even know they were considered metal.

Re: FH is insisting on Heavy metal at the wedding
we played nine inch nails - we're in this together now...
trust me - no one noticed....ask FH if he'd mind it being towards the end of the night....this way anyone who may get offended will most likely have left & he can metal out with his buds!
