FH is off...

to his first RCIA meeting. He's becoming a Catholic for me and also to honor my grandmother. I'm so touched that he's doing this. Had to share!

Thanks girls! The back story to this is that when my grandparents were married, they were married in my grandmothers home at the time because she was protestant and my grandfather was catholic. After being married for a few years, my grandmother converted to Catholicism because she loved my grandfather that much that she wanted to be able to celebrate their love together in church and have their children raised in the church, it was important to her and them. Once she became Catholic, they were remarried in the church. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago, but she loved my FH and thought he was very special.

So, he is doing this in honor of her memory. And even though we are not very religious right now, we were both raised going to church and we both know we want that to be a part of our children's lives.

Sorry so long, just wanted to explain a bit about my grandparent's love story

that is great. can i ask what he has to do and how long it takes? think i need to do this for fh.

He attends classes now till Easter. He will be confirmed and receive first communion at the Easter Vigil mass, which is the night before Easter. His class is once a week for 1.5 hours. Feel free to FM if you have any questions
