we are in the car and I am telling him what has been going on, wedding wise, and i told him that I am going on my lunch break tomorrow, to go and see the Planting fields Arboretum so I could scope it out for our pictures. He realized that we would be outside for an hour and a half taking pics...hopefully not that long, but it may be long. And he told me that he isn't going to do it b/c it's too cold.
I don't want to take pictures at Dante's b/c its dated looking. They have the wall of mirrors, that I don't like. I just don't want to take pictures at the RH.
Can someone help me please. Is there any place I could go indoors for pics?????

Does your photographer have a studio that you can take pics in? I agree about Dantes. It is pretty dated for pics

Re: FH keeps fighting me on things...
My photographer has a studio, but I wanted to do pics in a nice park. So, it will be cold, but you know what you suck it up.
I just love how everyone keeps fighting me on everything. I guess I need to find a place to have pics indoors. I will NOT do it at Dantes. I am haivng the reception there b/c FMIL is paying for it and she knows the guy that works there, so he is helping us out, but It's obviously not my dream choice lol But, if I can take pictures somewhere else and have it look the way I want it to look, I would be much happier.

did you check Reckson Plaza (EAB plaza)? That might be an option.

EAB plaza is supposed to be really nice for pictures, and it's free.

It's really beautiful in there in the winter and around Christmastime. My BF worked in the building and we used to meet for lunch there all the time in the winter.

Re: FH keeps fighting me on things...
It's right across from Nassau Coliseum on Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale.
Just a question- are you planning the entire wedding, like I am? Has your FH done anything?? If he hasn't, then just tell him 'Listen- I have spent hours, days, weeks and months to make us the most beautiful wedding we can have. The VERY LEAST YOU can do is to give me 1 1/2 hours of your time. I promise- no one will let you get frostbite.'
It kills me when people complain- I feel like they have no idea how much time this planning takes up. Sometimes, it's like a 2nd job. If YOU'RE doing everything, the other people involved should just do whatever it takes to accomodate you - sort of like payment for your time.
If he has been involved in the planning, then please disregard above, because then I don't know what to say, except 'PLEEEAAASSSEEEE!!'

You are 110% right wedding planning is truly a full time job and people dont know the full extent we go thru with wedding planning they think its so easy. I would say how about the Queens Museum of Art maybe you can check it out to see if its suitable for pictures. I know theres a few victorian homes in Queens that are open to the public like this one click me

Maybe it's better to do it all indoors anyhow. When exactly are you getting pictures done? It looks like your ceremony isn't scheduled to begin until 3:00, so if you're doing it afterwards, then it'll definitely be too dark anyway. That's why i'm doing it indoors (not only the chill, but because the light will be gone as well). I'm not familiar with that whole area tho, so I'm afraid that i can be no help on suggestions.
If you're doing the pictures before the ceremony, however, and the light isn't an issue, I agree with a couple of the posters above who said that he should just deal. I hate it when I hear about the men complaining when they've done nothing to help plan. Grrr. Didn't he refuse the E-pics as well?? I think it has nothing to do with being cold, or the location. He's just camera shy. Ya just gotta work thru THAT issue and then the rest should come together

OWG is closed for our wedding dates - i tried there - there is the vanderbilt museum, that was an option for us but its too far away from our RH so we decided against it - im just sucking it up and taking pics at the hotel, RH and out in the cold

Trust me, we are on the same level here, b/c I brought that up to him. PLUS we originally were going to take pics near shea stadium, he didn't have an issue with that lol But now that its all of a sudden freezing out, he is going to give me an issue.
I was on the laptop all night long in the other room and he came in and said 'what are you doing' I said 'I am calling people and researching places to go take pictures inside now' He was like 'don't do that...Ill just deal with it, just leave it'. So for now he has agreed to it. I told him I will bring blankets or w/e I have to do to make sure that people waiting to take their pictures wont be cold!!

I was thinking about the vanderbilt museum. I think I am going to give them a call today. I agree with you girls about the time of day and how dark it will get. I sort of liked that, b/c I liked the sunset look, but it may get TOO dark, and I don't want that. I will still call Vanderbilt and EAB Plaza and take a look at the places. :) Thank you all!

Worst case you can ask your photographer to bring some backdrops for pics at Dante's. I know it's not ideal, but it's better than nothing!
