they danced to wind beneath my wings. it's a common choice, but DH was still very moved by it when he danced w/ MIL.

They danced Mama by Boyz II Men. The lyrics are beautiful

He chose 'I'll Always Love My Mama' by The Intruders...they needed something upbeat so it feels like it goes quickly lol

I love My wish by Rascal Flatts, but was told that is a song from mom to child and doesn't fit the bill for them. Very difficult decision...

FH didn't want to dance with his mom and thought she'd agree - neither of them like to be the center of attention - but to FH's surprise, she recently told him she has a song picked out!!!

She likes 'Pride and Joy' by Stevie Ray V. ... it's about a woman, but we have a band so the lyrics can be changed to 'you' maybe .... i dunno though, just read the lyrics and they are very much about a couple ...

I like 'Time after Time' by Cyndi Lauper. I think the lyrics are very appropriate, and for FH and his mom, it's good because they loved CL in the 80s.

Lying in my bed, I hear the clock ticks, and think of you
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
Flash back, warm night, almost left behind
Suitcase of memories...
Time after

Sometime you pictured me, I'm walking too far ahead
You're callin' to me, I can't hear what you've said
You said, 'Go slow, I fall behind'
The second hand unwinds...

If you're lost, you can look and you will find me,
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting,
Time after time

I turn, my picture fades, and darkness has turned to grey
Watching through windows, you're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets, stolen, from deep inside,
The drum beats out of time...

If you're lost, you can look and you will find me,
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting,
Time after time

If you're lost, you can look and you will find me,
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting,
Time after time

Time after time...

If you have a band and have a woman sing it, it would work just fine. I think it's from a parent to a child, doesn't matter what parent (after all, a guy sings it ... ) and what age the child is. For it to work for a mother-son dance, however, I think it would be best if a woman sang it.

In my life- beatles

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain

All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends
I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

In my life I love you more

FH is dancing with his mom to this. And when I played it for FMIL she cried. I believe its very appropriate.
