I believe FH is using this song that I found and his mom likes. When I listen to it I get teary eyed. There is a sample on this website under Planning and then wedding songs.

Lyrics: The Man You've Become - Molly Pasutti

Big wheels, hot wheels
Little trucks and cars
Skinned knees, climbing trees
Wishing on the stars
Moments may be lost somewhere in time
But the sweetest memories are never left behind
Now you’ve grown so fine
And come so far…

CHORUS
I’m so proud of who you are
The man you’ve become
Thrilled to share your deepest joy
To know you’ve found the one
For the great things you will do
I’ll be blessed ‘cause you’re my son
But I’ll always see the boy
In the man you’ve become

School days, sleep-aways
Driving all alone
Phone calls, shopping malls
Late coming home
It was hard to know when to let you spread your wings
When to let you got to face the challenges life brings
But you’ve grown so fine
And come so far…

CHORUS

My husband danced with his mom to 'I Am Your Child' sung by Barry Manilow. I think it was a great choice.

I think 'Time after Time' by C. Lauper is a nice one - reminds the son that the mom will always be there for him. I want FH to use this one, because growing up he and his mom loved the song of hers that was in Goonies :) but he doesn't want to dance with his mom, he hates being the center of attention and I don't think he wants there to be room for crying, etc :) on his part.

'I will always love you' by w. houston is another good one. Sounds like a break up song but can also be a great song from mother to son.

Re: FH needs help picking a song!

my FH and FMIL are dancing to 'In Your Eyes' by David Chamberlain

When I look back on my childhood days
I feel so blessed in so many ways
You gave your love with every smile
with every touch
Somehow I knew that you believed in me so much

In your Eyes I’d see
A special love for me
In your heart, the trust, you gave so easily
All that you inspired
Kept me reaching higher
In your eyes I’d see
The man I was meant to be

A dream came true when she said I do
You smiled at her - it was then I knew
That your blessing will be ours for all our lives
Your faith in us is shining in your eyes

and In your Eyes I see
That special love for me
In your heart the trust, you give so easily
All that you inspire
Keeps me reaching higher
In your eyes I see
The man I was meant to be

You gave me roots that run so deep
You gave me wings to fly
I’ve never thanked you half enough
As the years went flying by…..
