He needs to talk to someone and explain the situation -- they're people too. I think they'll understand that he needs at least the whole weekend. Is he supposed to start that day? Can he switch his shift with someone else?

ohhhhhhhhh i sorry it ***** but maybe u can flip it and have a pre wedding HM. Get all the last min things out of the way and go for a couple of days just the two of you to a spa or just some place u both love to relax before the wedding. IM sorry that this made u so upset![]()

they start training that sunday so I dont think its possible, I will try to get him to call. He is really nervous and doesnt want to give a bad first impression![]()

Did he put in for vacation time? Do you have a honeymoon and flights booked? If so...you need to show proof of your vacation and change his time off! Its only fair! This is your wedding for petes sake!

He's going to training after the six month training? FH is NYPD so he went through something similar (six LONG months) and he doesn't like to take off or be late ever so I understand why your FH is hesitant to speak up. BUT it's not like he wants to take off for some BS reason. It's a weding -- it's right up there with like the birth of a baby.

I think they may understand. I don't think it will give a bad impression...it''s your wedding.
ugh i know this all too well. My advice (and DH agrees...he is a PO too) is to absolutely NOT even bother asking.....chances are, they will say No. It's not even a matter of understanding, or him looking bad....think of being a probbie like being in a frat and you're in hazing. Do not do anything to make yourself stand out, or ask for 'favors'. We could be dead wrong, but that's just how we have experienced it so far. DH laid low for the first year and it helped him a lot. A lot of our friends who kind of asked for stuff the first year, they have horrible schedules, don't get stuff approved (for no reason) etc. I'd do the pre-HM thing. Good luck hun....don't let this get you down. I know it's upsetting, but if i were you, i'd plan a real kick-booty HM either pre, or when you can do it! :)
